Fox is reporting two swat them vehicles are in the move and is reported as related to the Guthrie case. Also, there are several helicopters circling the area, and 12 to 15 FBI agents in the area of Guthrie home.

In the video where he first approaches the house, you can see the mouth flashlight briefly turn on and shine down on his jacket as he walks hunched-over. It’s only on for a second or so before it turns off again, but the rapid way it turns on and off give it away as a flashlight.
If I read the story right, she had both, and he went straight for the Nest which was 'nested' and not on the door frame, versus the Ring mounted on the door frame.
Nest offers anywhere placing, GOOG meant it to be a doorbell or surveil.

Not sure whether the recovered video was stored on the door camera or at a Nest data center. We have a Ring subscription that stores the videos for 180 days. If we did not have a subscription, then the videos are not saved. I suspect, however, that even if the videos are deleted from the data center, they can still be recovered depending upon the number of times they have been over-written. I have used data recovery software on many occasions to recover files that I have accidently deleted from my recycle bin. Even though the data was "permanently" deleted from my hard drive, it is still there and recoverable until overwritten on the drive by new data. This is why many apps that wipe hard drives run seven cycles of random numbers, letters, and symbols to prevent deleted data from being recovered.
