That is definitely a cigarette.

If you look closely at the glow, you can see the distinct orange cherry of a lit cigarette and a small trail of smoke.

The reason it might look a bit like a flashlight at first glance is due to the harsh camera flash hitting the white paper of the cigarette. This creates a high-contrast “bloom” effect, making the small ember appear much brighter and more intense than it would in natural light—almost like a tiny, glowing LED.

It fits the “tough/gritty” aesthetic of the photo perfectly. If it were a flashlight, you’d likely see a much larger beam of light illuminating the flowers or the person’s chest.

Would you like me to generate a similar “night-vision” style image for you, or perhaps edit this one to change the lighting?

Why would anyone be smoking a cigarette in the midst of a crime, while being thoughtful enough to disguise themselves? Did they put it out and take the butt with them?

Do these Ring/Nest doorbell camera’s have a flash on them or do they record natively in low light with no flash?
