About three weeks ago I had what seemed to me to be a serious stroke. I considered it quite likely I was not long for this world.
But medical technology has come ahead in leaps and bounds and I'm considered close to recovered at this point.
If you're having concerns about your health, see your Doctor. I didn't. If I had, I might have not needed to go through what I did.
Thanks for this update naturalman! Glad you are still kicking!
Take care fellow Aussie. May you be continue to be blessed.
Best wishes for a complete recovery. I learn a lot from your posts.
This is a long story and anyone can read it or not. I think it’s fairly interesting. This is actually a very condensed version.
On Aug 16th last year I went to the emergency room. I had been fine. It resulted in quadruple bypass surgery, and subsequently every complication known to man. My harvest site got infected and they filleted my calf from knee to ankle. I could not breath for two months (most of which I spent in ICU). My cardiologist and the cardio surgeon fought each other over my treatment. They eventually drained a liter of fluid off my right lung and sent me home. After five days my O2 sat dropped like a rock and I almost died (again). I went straight from ambulance back to ICU. The ICU doctor wanted to put me on a ventilator and I refused. This time they drained a liter of blood off my left lung. The pulmonologist almost crapped his pants because when he inserted the needle blood shot across the room. He said he had never seen that before. He also inserted a chest tube for 4 days. I spent a total of 2.5 months in the hospital, and like I said most of it was in ICU struggling to breath. Now I feel like they have killed me in slow motion. I was supposed to come out of this feeling better than before. That did not happen by any stretch of the imagination.
hope this never happens to us....
And she took the clot shot.
Required to keep her job.
I was wondering about that.
So infuriating what they made people do ... just to keep their jobs. Evil.
Praying she will have a full recovery and can be on a protocol that will help prevent any further issues.
God bless you, both.
What my sister and my cousin had were TGAs — Transient Global Amnesia.
Of course your doctors have surely given you lots of advice regarding lifestyle (exercise...diet...medications,etc) and hopefully you'll follow them. I hope we'll soon see you announce that your doctor has advised you to jog three miles a day...and that you're following that advice!
1975 is the year I became a Christian (I was baptised much earlier but didn’t take it seriously until then). That was in early adulthood.
Good for u
Yes always address symptoms even if imagined
I’m not around here much but I remember you! I’m so glad you came through ok! My mom had one and was rushed to the hospital and her only symptom after was that her eyes didn’t work bicameral as well. She was no longer driving and she could still read, she just turned her head a lot. We were glad that she too didn’t have any of the worst symptoms. Wishing you some more healthy years.
