Top Democratic lawmakers are digging their heels in opposition to a federal voter identification requirement, despite polling showing that close to three-quarters of their voters back it.
A colossal 83% of US adults support requiring some form of government-issued photo ID to vote, including 71% of Democrats and 95% of Republicans, a survey by Pew Research last year found.
Only 16% of American adults oppose it.
“It’s Jim Crow 2.0,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told MS NOW last week when presented with that polling data and asked about his opposition to the GOP’s Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.
The SAVE Act, which has already cleared the House, would require voters nationwide to show proof of citizenship in order to cast their ballot. Democrats are leveraging the 60-vote filibuster to block it in the Senate.
“I called it Jim Crow 2.0, and the right wing went nuts all over the internet. That’s because they know it’s true. What they’re trying to do here is the same thing that was done in the South for decades to prevent people of color from voting,” Schumer added.
Schumer argued that the measure would potentially hamstring women who get married and change their last name, and individuals who have lost track of their birth certificates from voting.

Dems arrogantly and confidently go ahead with their socialist, woke plans no matter what the lowly, stupid voters tell them.
So we’ve got the borders, voter ID, and the they-them stuff. There’s three 80-20 issues we’re on the right side of, and I think there are others.
It is so utterly, plainly evident that the only reason the Democrat politicians oppose Voter ID is so that the millions of non-citizen invaders they allowed to overrun the country can vote Democrat. Everyone sees it.
It's beyond my ability to comprehend how this is not the biggest issue of the midterms and if not resolved then, of the 2028 election.

Yeah, Schumer, just like all those left-wing European countries that require ID to vote. Give me a break.
Ah, but the blacks in Europe aren’t too stupid to be able to get an ID, like American blacks.... (say the democrats).
One thing I will say, though. My daughter is in a big leftist city and has to make an appt 2-3 months in advance to be able to either register her vehicle or register to vote. That is a crime. Instead of a bunch of the other crap that they are doing with government money they should be fielding enough places to register that they can handle the population in a timely manner. And the same thing with actual voting sites. There is no reason for this.

Seems the left manages to get the vote out(fraud?) and “republicans” stay at home except for major elections.
Without Trump on the ticket the energy wanes. Judges, school board, AGs… are as important as senate, house and WH.
This is an extinction level bill. If it passes, RATS will have a much harder time cheating for the foreseeable future. If it fails, GOP is done.
King Hakeem Skyhook is raising hell and asking how do Americans expect the Party of Death to win any elections if Voter I.D. is passed.
Ask anyone who uses the “Jim Crow 2.0” lie to explain in detail how it works to disenfranchise anyone. Then enjoy the sputtering and name-calling.
