It usually takes Karma a bit longer to catch up with you...
I obviously don’t agree with her politics, but deciding to compete despite having an ACL injury, and thus an unstable knee took a lot of guts - although also very unwise. I wish the best for her, including an epiphany about how lucky she and all of us are to live in this nation.
She’s never been stable.
“guts’ + ‘unwise’ = foolhardiness—not exactly a virtue, is it.
“ “I realise the magnitude of the position that I’m in right now,” she said.
“And I think the best thing I can do is to do exactly what I said. Stand tall and have hope. And show the world what America is, who we are as people. Because we are more than what’s happening right now.
“I always do my best to make our country proud. And I hope I can do that in these Games.”
What’s the problem?
Just my opinion. She was selfish. She was hurt. This outcome seems obvious. She could have shown class and selflessness by giving her slot to the alternate waiting for her shot. But that’s just me.
It looks like the spill was caused by the ski pole in her right hand hitting one of the flag sticks, sending her out of control.
Approximately how much do you average, per month, on your Rumble clicks? Just curious.
I don’t disagree. For me, I’ve done so many boneheaded things in life such that I try to look for the positives in other people’s boneheaded moves.
Now she will have to complain about Trump from her wheelchair.
You’re probably right. Athletes, however, especially at those levels of commitment, generally have an exaggerated self-belief that pushes them. Think of every boxer who should have quit before becoming damaged for life.
Agreed.
Jack Youngblood, Hall of Fame DE who played for the Los Angeles Rams, started the Super Bowl and played the entire game with a broken leg.
Actually, he broke his leg in the 1979 divisional round of the playoffs and played the NFC title game and Super Bowl XIV with a broken fibula.
Geez. Tape her up so she can get back on the slopes.
This is the problem:
“Because we are more than what’s happening right now.”
Well, the para-Olympics are coming up.
She was stupid to race on a ruptured ACL. That’s hubris to the max. Her ski days are over and good riddance.
