Former President Bill Clinton launched an angry attack against House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, as his appearance before the Committee to testify about his links to Jeffrey Epstein approaches.
Clinton gave Comer both barrels in a series of posts on X.
“I have called for the full release of the Epstein files,” Clinton wrote.
“I have provided a sworn statement of what I know. And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.”
“Now, Chairman Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors,” he continued.
“Who benefits from this arrangement? It’s not Epstein’s victims, who deserve justice. Not the public, who deserve the truth. It serves only partisan interests. This is not fact-finding, it’s pure politics.”
Then in a third Tweet, Clinton accused Republicans of “running scared” and using him “as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court.”
“If they want answers, let’s stop the games & do this the right way: in a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.”
A day before her husband’s angry words, Hillary Clinton challenged Comer to “stop the games.”
“If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s have it—in public. You love to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on. We will be there.”
Bill and Hillary Clinton will testify before the House Oversight Committee at the end of February. They agreed to do so after Chairman Comer moved forward with proceedings to hold them in criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to testify.
No former president has appeared before Congress since 1983, when President Gerald R. Ford did so to discuss the celebration of the 1987 bicentennial of the enactment of the Constitution.
When Mr. Trump was subpoenaed in 2022 by the select committee investigating the events of 6 January 2021, he sued the panel to try to block it. The panel ultimately withdrew the subpoena.

Squealing like a pig.
Clinton is correct.
Congressional “hearings” are out of control, whoever is in charge. Congress is not a law enforcement body, and hearings are required to have a legitimate legislative purpose.
Like the one Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were subpoenaed to?
Bill Clinton left office with a 68% approval rating by the American people. After they knew he was a sex offender who got away with it several times. Even admitted, red faced that he did what he did for the worst reason, because he knew he could do it.
The American people have a lot to answer for.
I will never forgive them.
June 16, 2004 on CBS:
Quote:
“...his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
Rather: “The central question, if I may, and I know this is difficult, the central question is why?”
Clinton: “I think I did something for the worst possible reason — just because I could. I think that’s the most , just about the most morally indefensible reason that anybody could have for doing anything. When you do something just because you could ... I’ve thought about it a lot. And there are lots of more sophisticated explanations, more complicated psychological explanations. But none of them are an excuse ... Only a fool does not look to explain his mistakes.”
Article author David Hancock of CBS.
“The affair’s disclosure put him, Mr. Clinton says, “in the doghouse” with his wife and also threatened to alienate his daughter, Chelsea. The family was able to overcome its terrible effect through counseling, however.”
A cornered rat.
I fully expect him to accuse Trump during his testimony. He’s old enough that there is almost nothing we can do to the Clintons.
Ghislaine was at Chelsea’s wedding. This well after Epstein’s first prosecution.
If that approval rating is to be believed, it means that 68% of the people polled were idiots and/or traitors to the United States of America.
All I hear is Charlie Brown’s teacher. Mwah mwah, mwah mwah mwah mwah.
Which he is, that Slick Willy.
The hearings should be public. Period.
C-B-O-B scumbag ratings, IMHO:
Clinton...Hog Poop
Bush.......Hen Poop
Obamy....Skunk Poop
Biden......Cat Poop
All these poopheads picked up the communist reins from FDR and delivered what we have today...
The Clinton’s know that no substantive questions will be asked in a public session.
Couldn’t Bill and Hillary Clinton have appeared weeks ago, when they were subpoenad to testify before Congress, why didn’t they go in right away ? Now Bill is trying to pretend he always wanted to testify but of course under his conditions !
Poor baby
He’s getting a pass honestly considering
Like Mena and so on
“ Like the one Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon were subpoenaed to?”
Did you read my post? I SAID “they all do it”. That something crappy Democrats do happens doesn’t make it right.
> The hearings should be public. Period.
Agreed. I’ve read reasons why everything should be held behind closed doors. Those reasons do make some sense. But in a democracy those reasons aren’t good enough. Let the sun shine in.
It’s not like anyone will be discussing the deployment of our nuclear submarines.
