The cold is sticking around for a little longer.
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow after emerging from his den in Pennsylvania on Monday morning — signifying six more weeks of winter.
If the world-famous prognosticating groundhog had not seen his shadow, it would’ve meant spring was near.

No poop, Phil!
According to the Groundhog Club’s archives, Punxsutawney Phil has now seen his shadow 109 times, or 84% of the 130 times he has predicted the weather. From 1903 until 1933, he observed his shadow every year, making 32 his longest run.
In his more than 135 years of experience, he has an overall accuracy rating of just 35%, according to NOAA.
A few days ago, it was -10 degrees for the high, so no surprise winter will last until spring. Silly rodent.
Wake my behind up at 6am on a cold winter morning and about the last thing I’ll scream about is a weather report.
Hey man, the real Phil was dropped on his head and died a few years ago. This guy is an impostor.
It’s a clear blue skies morning here in GA, and extra-cold at 22F where I’m at. So GA groundhog General Beauregard Lee will have seen his shadow, thus predicting more Winter.
BAH!
i got the cutest groundhog that lives on my property...i give him a few oreo cookies, and i swear, i see little hearts floating around his head...he loves em.
What a surprise.
His Sat is supposed to be a high of 6 and low of -11 with 15 MPH winds.
UGH!
Quelle surprise.
You were gonna get six more weeks of winter, regardless. And the worst snowstorms of the year can come in April.

wait until him and his buddies make a hole in the foundation of your house and take up residence in your basement ... then tell us how cute he is ...
theyve been around for years, no problems...house is on a slab, no basement. Dont be so afraid of animals, youll feel better.
I’m sorry, go ahead and flame away but to me...this is got to be THE dumbest tradition this country ever adopted.
I just don’t get it. SMH
I’m not afraid LOL ... they are destructive pests ...

Staten Island Chuck in New York and General Beauregard Lee in Georgia have accuracy ratings of 85% and 80% respectively compared to Phil's dismal 35%. I think Phil's been hitting the sauce a little too much the night before, he needs to step back and let the pros handle the job.
Buffalo and Rochester, both cities in NYS, won’t like to hear this.
Water mains are breaking.
I am marked safe from caring what a rodent says about the weather.
aww, Phil.
