According to the Groundhog Club’s archives, Punxsutawney Phil has now seen his shadow 109 times, or 84% of the 130 times he has predicted the weather. From 1903 until 1933, he observed his shadow every year, making 32 his longest run.

In his more than 135 years of experience, he has an overall accuracy rating of just 35%, according to NOAA.

A few days ago, it was -10 degrees for the high, so no surprise winter will last until spring. Silly rodent.

Wake my behind up at 6am on a cold winter morning and about the last thing I’ll scream about is a weather report.

It’s a clear blue skies morning here in GA, and extra-cold at 22F where I’m at. So GA groundhog General Beauregard Lee will have seen his shadow, thus predicting more Winter.

BAH!

Quelle surprise.

You were gonna get six more weeks of winter, regardless. And the worst snowstorms of the year can come in April.

Staten Island Chuck in New York and General Beauregard Lee in Georgia have accuracy ratings of 85% and 80% respectively compared to Phil's dismal 35%. I think Phil's been hitting the sauce a little too much the night before, he needs to step back and let the pros handle the job.
