I thought I was the only one who saw that movie. One of my favorites. Especially funny when you watch it at 2:30 a.m.
RIP.
It strikes me as odd that so many celebs die at a relatively young age, despite living in the warm California climate, having plenty of money, good health care, etc.
RIP Lola Heatherton
She was great in Beetlejuice!
What the heck! I didn’t read the article so I don’t know if she was sick or not but what a shock. I’m certain she was vaccinated though
She had a condition called situs inversus where the organs are mirrored in the body. While not dangerous it makes medical procedures and diagnoses more difficult.
Just rewatched “Home Alone” before Christmas. The parts with her and John Candy are classic. RIP Catherine.
We’ll have to see if it was a turbo cancer.
There’s a lot of that going around lately.
That Johnny LaRue sure was a scoundrel.
Loved everyone in the great SCTV ensemble - O’Hara was a very funny lady.
Indeed. Lola, Sammy Maudlin and William B. Williams are all sitting on the couch in that big set in the sky. We only have funnyman Bobby Bittman left here.
I loved her in the Home Alone movies. She always reminded me of a friend, who has her same smile. RIP.
NOT KEVIN’S MOM!! very sad..an amazing actress, RIP..
When she was in the SCTV ensemble it was a wonderful show.
“I want to BEAR YOUR CHIDLREN!”
Waiting for Guffman is killer too.
“He’s trying to get me to ignore my instincts.”
RIP
Catherine played one good role after the other for decades.
She remained at the top of her game.
She was of ‘our’ (Boomer) generation and still believed in privacy.
I say that as a speculation, because although I’ve been seeing her on the screen since Second City TV,
to this day I don’t know anything about her personal life.
Not a thing. That’s something rare, when nowadays most celebrities tell the public way, way too much about themselves. She must have had cancer or some kind of wastin disease, but she did not thrust her suffering onto the public just to grab even more attention. She was too dignified for that.
She was hilarious in “Schitt’s Creek.” So over-the-top she had me laughing all the time.
I did not know that was her in Beetlejuice.
RIP, indeed. Age 71 is young (I’m 74!).
“We only have funnyman Bobby Bittman left here.“
Maybe from the Maudlin show, but I believe Dave Thomas, Martin Short, Rick Moranis and Andrea Martin are still kicking from SCTV at large.
