The Pentagon has ordered a pause on training new recruits living with HIV. What’s more, military leadership is considering reinstating a ban that prohibits Americans who are HIV positive from enlisting in the Armed Services altogether, reports CNN. A decision is likely to come down “in the next few weeks.”

This is wonderful news, and news that I was hoping to hear under Trump's administration. HIV-infected individuals don't deserve special rights to invade the military any more than diabetics on insulin, narcoleptics, or pigeon-toed recruits do.

Fewer rights, considering their blood is infectious.

How difficult is it to decide that filthy disease-ridden queers should be EXCLUDED from military service?

Absolutely. All service members must be deployable to an arena of conflict, and someone with infectious blood is just a landmine waiting to hurt someone. And if their supply of drugs to ward off an infection flare-up is cut off, they become AIDS patients, with all the drag on resources that that entails.

AIDS drugs are known for long-term, deleterious health effects, including kidney damage, weakening of bone through bone thinning, and mental effects, like weird dreams that can affect mood and mental fitness.

Should be completely out of the question.

If they can boot you out for flat feet, HIV shouldn’t even be considered.

The Pentagon needs to be careful here. Washed up liberal hack Springsteen is torturing us with the Streets of Minneapolis. This policy may prompt him to come up with a new version of his 1990s HIV anthem “Streets of Philadelphia” to torture us with too.

I was shocked when they got rid of the ban.

Well gee, I would hope so.

Look, anything that you need consistent medical care to keep under control means that you should not be in the military.

You MUST be deployable.

If you are not, that is not a reflection on you, it just means that you are not deployable.

In order to help an HIV POS recruit from going into fully activated AIDS, that recruit will need to be on and have access to certain medications for the rest of their lives.
This would be an ongoing expense to the military, an expense and a risk they do not have to accept.

One of the first things the teach about first aid is use the wounded solders own medical supplies on them first not your own.

The was and is no question, you use what ever first aid, life saving measures you can on that wounded solder, there is no time to check and see that wounded solders medical status, there is no time to glove up. If needed you put your hands in their blood and guts as needed.

Now because of dei, wokeness you have to worries if that wounded solder is going to infect you with “AIDS”???

WTF!

Sorry but “you few, you happy homersexual or not AIDS carriers, go form your own band because I’m NOPE-ING OUT!

HIV positive individuals shouldn’t be in the military. It undermines readiness. It puts undue medical requirements on the military. It exposes other service members to risk of infection.

HIV positives also be barred from entering the USA.

Dropping the HIV ban was completely a political decision, divorced from sound medical science or common sense.

Diabetics cannot enlist because of elevated health risks, and this is completely uncontroversial.

HIV is not just a disease, it's being used by Democrats as biological warfare.

This is why the fag lobby will never allow a cure for aids. It is too much of a tool for liberalism.

Thank goodness I served when aids infected couldn’t serve. I’m not gonna stick my hand over a bleeding bullet wound wondering what disease I get.

I got hell for prescription eye drops on the Army.

Any remotely serious medical condition results in medical discharge. Always has.

Immune compromised medication dependent persons like HIV+ is about as serious as it gets. It shouldn’t ever be considered.

I can't believe we were still doing this - I assumed it ended earlier this year.

But I'm very glad to see that they may finally be getting rid of folks with HIV - or any other condition that should rightfully make them non-deployable.

Sort of like having your johnson cut off, turned inside out, and used to like an artificially created bleeding, unhealed wound in between your legs ...

If you read the article, two Court cases pushed this policy through against Congressional or Executive authority.

In 2022, individuals already in the military were allowed to remain if their HIV infection was “under control” with medication. New HIV recruits were still barred from enlisting.

In 2024, a leftist judge completely removed bars from enlisting or serving in the armed forces IF the service member kept his viral load (the concentration of HIV in his blood) at an undetectable, but not zero, level. An appellate court later put a hold on this decision, allowing the Trump administration to continue to bar HIV-infected recruits. I think already-serving member will still be allowed to stay in, unfortunately.

All this occurred under Biden’s watch, not surprisingly.

And they shouldn’t be allowed to donate blood.
