RIPLEY, W.Va. (WOWK) — A Ripley woman was arrested following an investigation into “a social media recruitment of individuals to pursue and assassinate President Trump,” a Sunday Facebook post from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff Ross Mellinger said in the post that Morgan L. Morrow, 39, of Ripley, was arrested and transported to South Central Regional Jail as part of the investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County Bureau of Investigations.
According to the criminal complaint, Morrow is charged with one count of threats of terroristic acts.
The criminal complaint filed in Jackson County Magistrate Court says that on Jan. 25, 2026, deputies learned of an alleged threat of violence “directed toward an unknown individual, which was believed to be a public official.”
“When you saddle up on the horse of stupidity, you have to be prepared for the ride that follows,” Mellinger said. “We’re just trying to do our part in making sure that it’s not acted upon, and there’s no one that’s following her footsteps to try to carry out the plan.”

Absolutely GUILTY.
Hopefully, Madam fatty will be losing weight on prison food!
Was she threatening to sit on somebody?
What a sweetie!😵💫😵💫😵💫

I feel sorry for the horse
I think the horse metaphor is a bit strained. FAFO is popular now, and I think captures the point. For those of delicate sensibilities like me, the first “f” can stand for “fool”
Corn fed, no doubt.
And she could obviously do with a little less feeding.
I was just gonna say... whatever you do, don’t look for the pictures...
LOL. Quote of the day from the sheriff.
Built for comfort, not speed. That said, damn! - she’s fugly!
According to the complaint, deputies said they learned that the reported threat had originated from a public TikTok account allegedly belonging to Morrow, who was a librarian at the Jackson County Public Library.
She obviously learned to eat books.
The jokes write themselves.
If you have Facebook, look up The Scuttlebutt and read about the guy from WV
Except
Our young scholar throws on a gold skeleton outfit, tops it off with a black hooded cloak like the Grim Reaper’s broke cousin, grabs a 12-gauge shotgun, and films himself a video. Not dancing. Not joking. Nope, James stares right into the camera and threatens to shoot federal ICE agents if they come to town.
That’s right, because nothing says “I have a bright future” like threatening the federal government while dressed like a Spirit Halloween clearance rack.
