MINNEAPOLIS — Even with a below-freezing forecast through the end of the week, several residents and business owners said they are planning to turn out Friday for an “ICE Out” day of protest in the city.
Organizers are calling for no work, no school and no shopping, and some businesses said they would close their doors as part of the civil action.

I saw no reference to the number of businesses involved, at the link. I coulld have missed it though. Though is true that would defeat their article, ehich leads me to believe there is no reference in the article that states the number of businesses particpatating.
It would be interesting to find out if these companies are going to pay their employees during the 1 day protest shutdown. People living paycheck to paycheck hardest hit..
There’s a storm moving through and it’s bitter cold… They don’t want to be out there so this is their excuse. Has zero to do with “winter storm fern”, I’m sure wink wink
That’ll show em.
Stupid.
Good. I would make a note of those businesses closing for an ICE protest - and post it online everywhere I could.
I would make sure I or my family never patronized those businesses again.
the NBC headline implies pretty much ALL businesses, you know, target, costco, kroger, kohls, home depot, lowes, Safeway, Piggly Wiggly and the like, you know, join in the “solidarity” by closing on Friday, all the better to free up more rioters, you see ...
BUT WAIT! ... There’s this: “SEVERAL residents and business owners” ... That’s right, “SEVERAL” ... wow, that’s a lot ... well no, actually it’s NOT a lot ... but it IS enough for NBC to gen up a fake headline to help fan the flames!
even in Colorado, schools will close when it gets below -20 or so degrees during the day ... though apparently, they’re just protesting the extreme cold ...
“I calculated -19.6 F but I rounded down. Sorry.”
perhaps the commotion caused by lack of pennies has slightly addled your brain ...
Brilliant move guys.
Stop your own business.
“Businesses in Minneapolis”
MSM propaganda for: “A half-dozen coffee shops and restaurants owned by radical leftists”
"Several".
Who cares.
Now that’s a good point!
What’s a few hundred frozen ‘Sotans compared to the comfort of illegal murderers, rapists, child molesters, Armed robbers, thieves and drug distributors of say fentanyl +?
😊😎
It’s like if one lesbian pastor of the Church of the Munching Rugg says something that agrees with the narrative, it’s blasted far and wide as if ALL religious leaders support that cause.
Yep, there are mostly one-offs. Very few are the type of business with more than one store and the vast majority are located right in the cities of Minneapolis and St Paul - all enemy territory.
But there were a few larger ones that surprised me - such as Half Price Books. I’ve shopped there a few times over the years. I’ll have to reconsider shopping there.
For the businesses that closed, I hope their heat goes out or their pipes burst.
I guess we will have to start saying “A nickel for your thoughts.”
“”””Wow, it’s almost as if it’s....winter.”””
Weird, right? The weather geniuses on tv are always trying to make everything a catastrophe or the end of the world.
It’s winter. We deal with it.
“Every single day, more than “several” people protest at abortion clinics, but that never makes the news.”
There is no such thing as “news” anymore. Every story has an agenda behind it. And that goes for both sides.
As the old saying goes “consider the source”, which is the first thing I do.
It’s like the whole news industry has become one big opinion page.
There is no such thing as “news” anymore.
Just propaganda.
The protesters who are stopping people from going shopping are also against ICE. Ain’t that peculiar. A peculiarity.
Oh, another “Day of Action”. how boring.
