In a social media announcement posted Wednesday, Tucson Pride’s Board of Directors said the organization has made the “difficult decision to close Tucson Pride as an organization" and therefore is also canceling the Tucson Pride Festival scheduled for Feb. 21, 2026.
The Facebook post, attributed to the newly appointed board, said the decision came after “thoughtful discussion and careful consideration.” The statement thanked volunteers, sponsors, artists and activists and highlighted Tucson Pride’s role in the community “since 1977,” calling it a space of “visibility, advocacy, celebration, and resilience for nearly five decades.”

Make Tucson and all of Arizona straight again!
Tucson is a major hub for planetary science, home to the University of Arizona's (UA) Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (LPL), which offers leading graduate and undergraduate programs, and the non-profit Planetary Science Institute (PSI), a key research organization involved in numerous NASA missions.
Tucson is also the original source for gigantic telescope mirrors. Everything needed for making mirrors meters across was developed here.
Sounds like humilty.
Exactly.
I'm praying that Drag Queen Story Hour gets defunded, whoever is fronting the money for that.
So much is changing now that the USAID money is gone.
Crazy is now running out if money.
Next...getting rid of SOROs and his cronies.
They’ve won all they wanted. Rewriting marriage laws, special rights for the Left, and privileges that normal folks do not have.
hhmmm....they flunked their audit
Two possible explanations:
- Being "queer" is so commonplace now that they have successfully integrated into societal thinking and they're nothing special in the public's eye now.
- There is a growing societal push back due to "gay" fatigue which makes the cost of these public queer publicity events too costly economically and reputationally.
I know the "pride parade" in my large city moved to Main Street around 2010, but has since scaled back to just a small event in the "gayborhood" district, out of public view. What was once a 10 days of "gay pride" events is now a couple of days and poorly attended.
“Tuscon has NOTHING to be proud about.”
