How did it happen that Minnesota gave us both Joe McCarthy and Ilhan Omar. Does it mean anything?

Joe McCarthy was from Wisconsin.
Eugene McCarthy was from Minnesota.
Plus, Joe was proved right on every formal accusation of politicos being on the USSR’s payroll. When the USSR died their records came out — all of the traitors were listed.
Kinda like all the present US Senators being on Maduro’s payroll.
Generations of public education using positive reinforcement conditioning coupled with a catastrophic immigration plan beginning in 1964.
A, Joe was right about Hollyweird being chockablock with communists and, B, it wasn’t Joe who conducted the witch hunts, it was the joint House Un-American Activities Committee.
California gave us Ronald Reagan and Gavin Newsom. FWIW.
Omar is an Un-American and quite actve.
And people were reassured it would not transform the country.
When it passed, no one blinked, it was anti-climactic.
You forgot Jesse Ventura.
Wisconsin gave us Joe McCarthy and Jeff Dahmer.
As a medical professional friend of mine is quite fond of saying, “Correlation does not imply causation.”
A book called “Blacklisted By History” should be required reading.
Everything you hear about the “Red Scare” is bullshit, including “Red Scare”. Other required phrases include “Hysteria” and “Witch Hunt” and the poor, poor dears whose lives were ruined, blah blah blah.
McCarthy was a cheesehead. If we’re talking failed senatorial Democrat presidential candidates, Minnesota gave us Humphrey, McCarthy and Mondale. No political good ever came out of that state, So, Omar is representative of the political trash that has always sullied its landscape.
THe only notable Republicans I know that came from Minnesota were former governors Tim Pawlenty and of course Harold Stassen, who ran for president like nine times.
Joe McCarthy = Wisconsin
Ilhan Omar = Somalia

Ronald Reagan might have been Governor of California, but he was born in Tampico, Illinois.
On the other hand, Wisconsin gave us both Jeff Dahmer and Ed Gein. Are you sure that’s *pork* in those bratwurst?
Actually JFK didn’t write the book; Ted Sorenson wrote most of it, with inputs from the ADL’s Ben Epstein.
Kennedy allegedly only proof read it with redlines.
If anyone thought he had the attention span to write a book, they were mistaken. He had other things to focus on...ask Marilyn or Judy.

Minnesota gave us Gene McCarthy.
