Wesley Hunt - what's not to like?
me | 14Jan26 | jagusafr

I'm more and more impressed with Wesley Hunt as a Republican candidate to replace John Cornyn. Cornyn (a friend of my late father) needs to go, and Paxton has way too much baggage (and if his wife can't trust him, why should I?). Are there negatives that I haven't seen yet on Hunt other than his relative political inexperience?

Here we go again the base splits among two or more conservatives, the rats cross over and saves the rino. McTraitor, Flake, Murk, Graham and now Cornyn all survived because of vote splitting.

Too bad about Paxton. I would have no problem with him in that office, but I’m not even a local voter.

I am interested in learning more about Mr. Wesley Hunt, but he would need a metric ton of name recognition to make an impact. Is there still enough time to introduce a new name to the possible candidates? Voting for the Senate is this November.

A ping out to the Texas Ping list, founded by Windflier.

Here is a personal appeal by a FReeper that we Texans consider Wesley Hunt, instead of John Cornyn.

Pinging the Texas! Ping list so that we can get a good discussion going.

I do not know enough to decide one way or the other, but think that we should discuss this candidate.

Another special Texas winter edition for your perusal.

As always, please FReepmail me if you want on or off the Texas Ping list.

Blessings, and stay warm!

A choice between Cornyn and Paxton is a choice between which pile of manure you want to step in, although Cornyn is more likely to bring a better looking mistress to his swearing in.

Some people need to learn the difference between public and private morality and ethics. I would remind the original poster that PDJT has been married three times and when younger had the reputation as a playboy. So he was a Harris voter I guess

Prayers for TX GOP. Wesley Hunt specifically. 🙏

Cornyn seems to Left and Paxton’s chances would be a nailbiter in the general apparently — especially if James Talarico - and not Jasmine Crockett- gets the Democratic nomination.

Good luck to y’all!

Hunt is very appealing to me as a voter. I have yet to find a reason to not support him. He is an easy choice over Cornyn and Paxton in the primary.

Last I saw, Hunt was polling at less than 10% in the primary. Paxton was +60%.

We're riding with Ken Paxton.

Yes but Trump’s past is not the same as what Paxton was doing WHILE in office and calling for the 10 Commandments to be displayed in every classroom to boot.

If “Presbyterian minister” James Talarico (not Jasmine Crockett) gets the nomination, Paxton may in fact be toast.

” I would remind the original poster that PDJT has been married three times and when younger had the reputation as a playboy.”

Granted, Trump sowed his oats a lot when he was younger. In Paxton’s case, within a month of announcing for the Senate seat, he was cavorting around with his mistress (a married woman) in a Dallas hotel. Such stupidity and poor self-discipline! And then expect the Christian conservatives to enthusiastically get behind him! He will reap what he has sown.

There is nothing wrong with Paxton. Nothing

This would be Cornyn choosing a dem (like Cornyn) replacement

Hunt is a nutless milquetoast.
Texas needs Paxton and his three big brass balls.

John Wayne McCornyn is so far behind in the polls that I don’t see where he has any chance.

Doesn't get any more accurate than that.

So what would be your solution if the incumbent were a self-serving RINO like, say, Cornyn? Just keep electing him till he decides he’s rich enough?

Thanks, TB - I hope the conversation will be constructive rather than chucking rocks at the new kid.
