Media Smear Beloved Cartoonist Right Up To The End - Dilbert Creator Scott Adams Opened the Door on Honest Conversation About Race

Soon after Eric Holder was confirmed as Barack Obama’s attorney general in February 2009 he gave a speech to his new employees in honor of Black History Month. It proved memorable. “Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot,” said Holder, “in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.”

In February 2023 Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams showed that not all white Americans were afraid to speak about race. On his podcast, “Real Coffee with Scott Adams,” the soft-spoken Adams delivered a droll, only half-ironic discourse on the many conundrums white Americans face in a world increasingly hostile to their aspirations. To be understood, this video has to be seen.

“I have been identifying as black. I like to be on the winning team,” said Adams. In the few years following the death of George Floyd, his was an accurate assessment. Corporations were openly discriminating against white males. Academia and government agencies had been doing so for decades.

A Rasmussen poll, however, proved to be the first poll that “changed my activities.” According to the poll, a full 26 percent of black Americans disagreed with the statement, ‘It’s OK to be white’?” Another 21 percent weren’t sure. Surmised Adans, “Nearly half of [the black] team doesn’t think I’m okay to be white.”

Now shifting into a more ironic gear still, Adams deadpanned, “I am going to re-identify as white because I don’t want to be a member of a hate group. I accidentally joined a hate group.”

“The best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people,” Adams continued, now pulling back on the irony. “There’s no fixing this” Here, he cited CNN’s Don Lemon on the reality that white neighborhoods are almost always safer than black neighborhoods. He also expressed his weariness at being called “racist” no matter what he said or did.

“You didn’t expect that today, did you?” said Adams wrapping up the conversation with a wry smile.

Holder’s “nation of cowards” certainly did not expect honesty. The milksops who manned the nation’s newsrooms and board rooms were unable to recognize courage when they saw it. To a person, they denounced Adams’s “rant” and/or “screed,” proving they had no understanding of what those words even meant. Within days, their collective fury translated into across-the-board cancellation of Dilbert and the man who created him.

Trapped in their own spiteful bubble, American’s journalists had no idea how beloved Adams had become to the millions of people who admired his courage and who followed his everyday wisdom on X. In the three years since Adams was cancelled, America changed for the braver. Said Vice-President J.D. Vance just a few weeks ago, “You don't have to apologise for being white anymore.”

As the People header shows, the media missed all this. Failing to recognize the erosion of their own power, they felt free to smear Adams even on the very day of his death, not even realizing that that their smears no longer mattered.

Dying of prostate cancer, Adams shared that wisdom right up until the end. Commented President Trump on his passing,"Sadly, the Great Influencer, Scott Adams, has passed away... He will be truly missed. God bless you Scott!"

If the left did not have double standards they would have no standards at all.

And sub standard at that. Remember, ‘special’ treatment is NOT equal treatment.

The left destroyed this man for his opinion. They are extremely tolerant of everyone they agree with.

They severely cut into his income, but he certainly wasn’t destroyed.

So it is ok to destroy him over his opinion as long as they leave him enough. No, he had enough following to overcome their destruction. Hope they come after you and see what it is like.

I wouldn’t be so harsh, bray...I didn’t read it at all as you did. FreedomForce wasn’t saying that in my opinion.

I took his post as demonstrating Scott Adams’s perseverance in the face of them trying to destroy him, and not being cowed, not allowing himself to be destroyed.

Mr Adams started to rebel against wokeism years before his “racist” statements. I used to read the daily syndicated comics online almost every day. “Dilbert” has been a long-time favorite. I noticed that after Obama was elected (before I moved into this place in 2010) there was this trend in the daily comics to all have the same theme; like, one week it was “volunteer in your community” and all the comic strips did that theme. Almost ALL of them and at the same time Barack and Moo were promoting the “volunteer” idea.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with volunteering (as long as you have the time and can afford it), but it was a little weird to see all the comics doing the same theme at the same time.

Mr Adams played along for a little while and I remember one day he stopped - the character he had created to push whatever idea was being pushed on him every day suddenly (literally) disappeared in a poof. He started doing “Dilbert” the way it had been before and left out the social wokeism.

As soon as he started supporting Trump in the 2016 election, his revenues began to drop. He was like the “canary in the coal mine” in this regard because he started rejecting politically-hyped themes and man, did his income and finances take a hit! By his report his income was reduced by more than half. All these papers started dropping “Dilbert” and if he hadn’t already been rich he would have been financially ruined.

“Controversial” - he was one of the most gentle, kind-hearted (and yet hard-minded), POLITICALLY MODERATE guys ever. Yeah it’s possible he was touched by Scientology - he tacitly criticized me for not trying to monetize and hustle my writing.

Mr Adams influenced a WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE during his life, which he said in his “goodbye, everybody!” statement has been “amazing.”

He also said that he had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. That made me get all teary. #RIPScott

People is staffed by nasty queers and their fag hags who do nothing but tear other people down. They don’t apologize for anything.

What Adams said wasn't any more racist than when blacks tell high-achieving blacks that they are "acting white."

When I was in high school the black students who did well in school (and they were few) were told they were sucking up to whitey. The other black students were offered an opportunity for education, but they rejected it and many were disruptive to their entire class.

It is easy to misinterpret posts in an online text based environment. I have been reading bray’s posts for many years, I think he interpreted your post differently from what you meant, because he doesn’t usually reply like that.

Darn it, I do it all the time.

Re: Scott in the White House

He bought a business suit just for the occasion since he didn’t own one. Maybe his family will use his only suit for the funeral.

I enjoyed his commentary and looked forward to it every day.

If a DEI hire or a black/minority without a long time in their career (e.g., LarryElder, TSowell, etc) there are good odds that they will be racist.
Knee jerk reaction and a cowardly desire to appease the Wokies.
