You’ve heard of DEI in the workforce, but DEI in the National Football League isn’t all that different of a ball game. And after looking at the stats, BlazeTV host Jason Whitlock determines it’s been doing far more damage than good.
In 2018, 19 quarterbacks averaged more than 250 passing yards per game. Now, in 2025, there are only five quarterbacks who average more than 250 passing yards per game.
“There are five quarterbacks that average more than 250 passing yards per game: Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, Patrick Mahomes, and Drake Maye. ... What are we watching? What is going on with the National Football League?” Whitlock asks, disturbed.
“Has gambling and fantasy football distracted us so much and covered up all the flaws of the National Football League that we’re sitting here watching ... quarterback play go directly into the toilet, and we’re pretending like we don’t see it at all,” he continues.
However, Whitlock has a theory as to why this is happening.
“My contention is, the hyperfocus on DEI and black quarterback play has diminished merit, has diminished competition, has undermined the pursuit of excellence for the pursuit of quotas. And everybody’s play has dropped because of the hyperfocus on DEI,” Whitlock explains.
“DEI degrades everything in sight, including the National Football League,” he adds.
In 2018, Whitlock points out that there were three black quarterbacks who had more than 250 passing yards.

Drake Maye vs. Bryce Young.
I have no doubt that Pacific-Islanders are likewise underrepresented!
Regards,
Passing yardage has a lot to do with how good the receivers as well.
He was part of a group who tried to buy the Rams. The players association protested because, what else, muh racism. He had to back out and he was angry at the group because they had promised him his association with them would not be controversial.
Yes the media went wild with it.
Pro football is a form of corruption which should be eliminated entirely. A detail like this means nothing.
On the NFL pregame show, as I recall, they were talking about Donovan McNabb not playing very well over a number of recent games including the previous season and how the normally merciless Philadelphia fans and sports media seemed to be giving him a pass. Rush openly wondered if the media was not as harsh as they would normally be because they didn’t want to be seen as coming down hard on a black quarterback. Several of the panel were visibly uncomfortable at his question although it didn’t blow up like it would now on the View or in current social media. In the end, Rush quit the show stating he was grateful for the opportunity but didn’t want to be a cause controversy that would distract from what the show was, a sports pregame show.
Your memory is not accurate Rush Limbaugh said that McNabb wasn’t really that good and that the praise of him was resulting from the NFL’s desire to promote black quarterbacks.
He was half right because McNabb was really an extremely good quarterback at that time.
