Kyiv Mayor urges evacuation to find warmth as infrastructure war escalates

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has called on residents to temporarily leave the Ukrainian capital for places with alternative sources of electricity and heat.

That came following a major Russian missile and drone attack overnight into this morning that severely damaged critical energy infrastructure.

The strikes, described by officials as one of the most damaging on Kyiv’s power grid this winter, left approximately half of the city’s apartment buildings, around 6,000, without heating as temperatures plummeted to minus 8°C and forecasters predicted further falls.

The Russians could have done this all along. And still haven't done it East of the Dnieper eg. Kharkiv..

This is a tactic that could clear out large amounts of the urban populations in the west of Ukraine.

Is that the mayor who was a heavyweight boxing champion some 15 years ago? Huge fellow. His brother was also a pro boxer.
Wonder what he thinks of President Z?

Sending what is left of the Ukrainian population fleeing to the EU ( or just a few million) will break the EU....as some EU nations are no longer accepting Ukrainians because they can’t support them ( they are beyond broke) this would be a fitting end for the EU and their war mongering.

The EU is and always will be bigger threat to the US than Russia ever was.

We have spelled it K I E V forever. Why was that not the correct spelling if now they spell it K Y I V? It’s because journalists are liberals and want to be seen as smart. What could be smarter than knowing that everyone was wrong about the spelling of a place name while they know the right spelling. They do that with pronunciation too Pakistan became Pok E Ston. Peking became Bay Jing. Liberals love people with exotic names. They love to say names like Boutros Boutros Golly and Khomeini. Yassar Arafat. Barack Obama. Osama bin Ladin. They always sound so smart and worldly S they talk about the world. And they are smart because they have figured out how to make money without doing any work.

Using Kyiv supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.
After Russia’s actions in Ukraine (especially since 2014 and 2022), many countries intentionally stopped using Kiev

So why don’t we spell Warsaw as ‘Warszawa’ then?

They love to do the Spanish lilt thing whenever saying a Spaniard’s name or South American city. It is so phony. Kind of like Marie Harf and her smart girl glasses. She does look kind of cute in them though. Imo.

>> Wonder what he thinks of President Z?” <<

In know that in 2019 Zelensky’s chief of staff, tried to fire Klitschko from the KCSA and replace him with someone loyal to the Zelensky’s neo-Nazi regime.

He has accused Klitschko of corruption and has tried to ‘unsuccessfully’ unseat him for 5 years now.

It's actually quite interesting how the Ukraine’s capital has a dual power structure: in addition to the elected mayor, there’s a head of the Kiev City State Administration (KCSA), a presidential appointee, with a power wand. 🧚

NYC’s new mayor would suggest huddling up and absorbing the warmth of collectivism.
