Pittsburgh is looking for some extra luck in a key matchup.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are calling on some extra help.
Before their game Sunday at Acrisure Stadium, a priest was seen blessing the field with holy water. The video was captured by Jenna Harner of WPXI, NBC's Pittsburgh affiliate.
Pittsburgh, 9-7, is hosting the Baltimore Ravens on NBC's Sunday Night Football for the last postseason spot left from either conference.
The winner will claim the No. 4 seed and host at least one playoff game, with the Houston Texans entering as the No. 5 seed.
If Pittsburgh and Aaron Rodgers gets the job done, fans will be able to point to what helped -- unless Lamar Jackson and Co. spoil the party.
Everyone is assuming this is a Catholic priest, and it probably is, but I haven't seen anything that proves it. There are other priests, that use holy water. (CoE may not use that term, for example, but they do they do use blessed water, for example.)
Is that anything like Kosher food? (Blessed by the Rabbi).
Should This Be;
(Catholic Cockeye)?
Huh?
Who were lunatics?
bkmk
The priest sprinkling water they claim ‘holy’... howling at the moon lunatics ... They are lunatics ... devil worshipers ... followers of Christ would NEVER practice ‘holy’ witchcraft ... Have you NEVER READ????
Would this be considered cheating?
It was Lamar Jackson who said he yelled at the rookie kicker for a kickoff out of bounds earlier in the game (”I was livid”) who iced him in the biggest moment of his life.
About 35 years ago i ran Ultras and had my running shoes blessed by a catholic priest. I beleive it helped.
Of course, unless you ran a 100 mile foot race then go ahead and judge me.
Why?

As real as this guy?
Unfair advantage?
It will take more than a little holy water to save the Steelers from the Houston Texans defense. Those guys are fierce and relentless.
Is that a proper use of holy water?
There is no such fluid as Holy Water.
“There is no such fluid as Holy Water.”
Of course. I know that. But don’t tell the cultists; ignorance is bliss, and they’re happy.
When our seminary bought a defunct monastery in the ‘60s, I helped prepare the place during the summer before classes started In one basement room there were Clorox bottles with “holy water” scribbled in Magic Marker.
The Steelers will be fine. The refs will protect them.
Blessing the field, that I understand if you don’t want any injuries to the teams. What exactly would be the blessing? May the best team win? God help our team win this important game?
