Colin Jost gave a scathing impression of the scandal-entrenched Secretary of War Pete Hegseth during a Saturday Night Live Cold Open segment.
The comedian, who rarely appears on the late-night show beyond Weekend Update, depicted a high-strung and aggressive Hegseth clumsily soft-pedaling his alleged war crimes against Venezuelan drug-smuggling boats.
Jost's Hegseth strutted to the podium at a press conference as wrestling-intro music blared - before chugging an energy drink and slamming it on the ground.
'First things first, where's the fatties?' he intensely asked the room full of baffled reporters during Saturday night's episode - which was criticized by conservatives as a flop.
After insulting one of the reporters about their weight, Hegseth's character delved into the air strikes he approved on the Venezuelan drug ships in September.
'Now listen up, as you've probably read in some gay newspaper, we're now at war with Venezuela,' he bizarrely began.
'Now, you got questions for me? Fine. Pretend I'm a random fishing boat and fire away.'

The laugh is not the SNL is funny, the laugh is SNL. A bunch of unfunny political hack sock puppets.
Yeah, especially when they did their ending to “It’s A Wonderful Life” when they totally did a number on Potter.
But Ford was a sport about it because I remember him queuing SNL one night w/"Live. From NY. SNL!"
About the time the Belushi and Chase left I stopped watching.
We were much younger then too. But they did scorch both sides back then, amd it wasn’t all about politics & nothing else.
This show lives on it’s past reputation. Like 40 years ago reputation.
I don’t know why this show is still on the air unless Lorne Michaels has photographs of NBC brass in compromising positions or something.

Yet they couldn’t find a single thing funny about Biden.
What was with the whole “Matt Gaetz” part? Just taking random cheap shots, no matter how weird and desperate it looks?
Not allowed to although they did make fun of him in October '24 after the "Palace Coup".
During the 2019-2020 primaries, a supporter of a different Democrat candidate asked Biden a question—instead of giving a reasonable answer he called the man (an elderly farmer) “Fat.” I don’t think SNL went after Biden for that insult.

It’s hilarious to watch them attempt to and then nearly dislocate their shoulders trying to pat themselves on the back.
