Somali fraudsters got luxury digs, beachside resort, rented Rolls Royce and Lamborghini with stolen funds
NY Post ^ | 12/03/25 | David Spector

These are the lifestyles of the rich and shameless.

The Somali fraudsters convicted in the Feeding Our Future scandal flaunted government-funded lifestyles and robust real estate portfolios with the millions of dollars they bilked from the federal government.

Brazen scammers stole hundreds of millions of dollars of federal COVID relief funds — spending their loot on tony condos, expensive cars, and real estate projects in Kenya — including a four-story apartment building and luxury resort, according to court documents.

Minny insiders marveled this week to The Post at their sheer chutzpah.

Liban Yasin Alishire, 43, who pleaded guilty in 2023 to wire fraud and money laundering, spent $350,000 from his pilfered payouts on a luxury resort.

The lush Karibu Palms Resort, nestled on the southeastern border of Kenya along the Indian Ocean, just a stone’s throw from the white sands of Diani beach and local shopping malls, boasts multiple two-bedroom fully furnished cottages for larger parties, as well as studio apartments. Guests are even able to hire their own personal chef — for a fee.

I can’t even imagine how ridiculous a skinny ass Somalian would look like in a Lamborghini. Or how obvious it was stolen.

When I visited family in OH I was puzzled how the Somalis could pay cash for their houses. Most of them didn’t seem to work. We know now. Rooting out frauds will help with the affordability crisis.

“tony” is simply a catchy word for “upscale” or “fashionable”.

Tony is an adjective meaning swank, up-scale, classy, or posh. Think, “high-tone,” or tone+y.

IRS has long been prevented from using sensible tools to detect fraud. Sensible tools include: who is buying a Lamborghini, a six carat diamond at Sak’s, a seaside residence without a mortgage, etc. They are not allowed to even look.

Legit daycare centers in the area are complaining, rightfully so, that so much money went to the fraud centers. They are pissed that they are underfunded and cant give the kids proper csre kfood, gooks, c,othes or whatever) while the fraud ones rolled in money and spent it on themselves.

Somalia is considered a decrepit, failed state due to decades of civil war, clan
conflict, the thieving Somali mentality and collapse of the central government.

A lack of basic services, widespread instability, terrorism (Al Shabaab),
Somali piracy, and humanitarian crises from conflict and thievery ensued.

A Somali government formed in 2012 so some progress has been made with regular infusions of US foreign aid tax dollars, but deep-seated issues like clan rivalries, Somali thieving and other corruption.

Persistent threats from staged extremist Somali thieve
often require US tax dollars for “security and welfare.”

Staggering billion dollat Somali fraud leads
to threats for thieving Somali “day care” owners

January 2, 20264:50 AM ET
Heard on NPR Morning Edition
By Brian Mann, Michel Martin

EDITED: Somali day care operators in Minnesota defrauding the federal government has led to threats against staff and a federal child care funding freeze. Somali Americans in Minnesota who operate child care centers say they’ve received violent threats and have been targeted by vandalism.

MICHEL MARTIN, HOST:

This follows posting of a video last week by a right-wing YouTube influencer that he said shows evidence of fraud at Somali American-run child care centers. The Trump administration responded to the video by suspending federal funding for child care centers, not just in Minnesota, but around the U.S.

MARTÍNEZ: In a few minutes, we’ll hear from the head of a child care center advocacy group about how those cuts are affecting its members. We start, though, with details from Minnesota.

MARTIN: So Somali American day care operators in Minneapolis say they’re facing harassment and vandalism. What more can you tell us about this?

MANN: Yeah. Nasrulah Mohamed wearing a Yankee ball cap spoke at a press conference at the Nokomis Day Care Center, where he works in Minneapolis.

NASRULAH MOHAMED: We’ve been receiving hateful messages through our voicemails threatening us, including one that happened yesterday morning after the break-in. This is frightening and exhausting.

MANN: Now, Mohamed says sensitive documents have been stolen. After that press conference on Wednesday, President Trump called Mohamed’s account of the break-in a total fraud. As this situation unfolded, Trump has again attacked Somali Americans in Minnesota, calling them “lowlifes.”

MARTIN: How did this escalate so fast?

MANN: The Trump administration is halting funding for child care programs around the country. Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill spoke in a video posted online. He said child care funds will be released only when states prove they’re being spent legitimately.

JIM O’NEILL: Starting today, we require a justification receipt or photo evidence before we make a payment.

MANN: O’Neill says he took this action based on what he describes as intrepid journalists making shocking and credible allegations.

MARTIN: So what happens now to these child care centers, those in Minnesota and around the country?

MANN: A child care provider in Maplewood, Minnesota, said this funding freeze could be devastating for kids and their working parents around the country. Child care’s incredibly expensive, of course, and these subsidies are make-or-break for many families. Solheim also voiced dismay that Somali thievery could disrupt the child care system so dramatically.

MANN: NPR has asked federal officials what process states will have to go through now to scrutinize thousands of child care providers around the country in order to get these federal dollars flowing again. We just don’t yet have answers to any of those questions.

Isn't is wonderful that the Somalis were able to make such great use of billions of Minnesota's tax dollars?

They've even got Gov. Tim Walz running interference for them! Blaming White men for the fraud - and raising taxes further to cover the Somali's new lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

What are the chances Tim Walz be re- elected? He's already said he's running for a 3rd term - and most likely has a full war chest after getting kick backs from the scams.
