These are the same idiots who decided their CA government could implement high speed rail to actually serve a public need….
…and they still support news um after scaling back the project to literally reflect its monicker,
“Train to Nowhere.”
After literally quadrupling in total project cost.

Not really. There's not much underneath it.
For the people of California, yes.
But I am convinced the policy is having the effect the Democrat politicians desired (not what they used to sell it).
There isn’t an honest economist in the world who couldn’t predict the outcome of this bill. Still, the Left doesn’t really care about what happens to the little guy, so they continue to put clowns like Newsom in office. I wonder what the real out-migration from CA would be if you take the illegals out of CA...probably 3-4 times the count given.
Gavin just enacted legislation his donors paid for.
The real minimum wage is always zero.
The munchies make for indiscriminate food purcheses. Food stamps ensble the process.

The other incredible part of the story is the exception for fast food places that sell loaves of bread. And, shockingly, Gavin’s high school buddy controls all the Paneras in the state and he donates a lot to Gavin’s campaign.
I wonder if the “bread exemption” applies to Subway and I wonder why McDonalds doesn’t start selling loaves of bread.
The “Panera” story confirms the old axiom:
“Politics is about who not what.”
The price of hamburgers at McDonald’s went up the same amount in the states that have new high minimum wages and the states that don’t. DC or Knoxville doesn’t matter; it’s the same price. The minimum wage in the DC area is $17 an hour; the minimum wage in the Knoxville area is $7 an hour. Same price. And why is that? Because the price is set by what customers are willing to pay for, not how much it cost to reduce. That’s why McDonald’s has ungodly profit margins. And why a franchise fee runs more than a million dollars a year.
They raised the minimum wage to raise pay for government worker, whose pay was negotiated by collective bargaining to be pegged to the minimum wage, so when the minimum wages goes up, they get a raise.
That was the real reason, they don’t care about fast food workers, or the public in general. It was all about more money for the unions.

Calif politicians will just blame it on greedy corporations and about 60% of the voters will just nod and keep watching a formerly great state dismember itself.

They do. Unemployed young people are a bonus for D’s. It’s a growing class to make into government dependents and perpetual D voters.
