An independent journalist in Ohio has released a video investigation alleging extensive fraud schemes involving the misuse of Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) benefits within parts of the state’s Somali community, adding to broader scrutiny of welfare programs and oversight failures.
A favorite scam involves connecting restaurants to grocery stores.
According to the journalist, these grocery stores are able to process EBT transactions for bulk food purchases, which are then used to supply the adjacent restaurants.
Then the grocery stores — which do their business in cash — report large losses that can be used to claim tax write-offs.

I saw that last night in something I posted. In 2015 they knew about it. Yet nothing was done. This is insane.
I watched a video that featured a woman who had worked for the peace corps in Somalia. It was her opinion that the culture in Somalia doesn’t see a problem with fraud. To them, it’s no different that working for money. It’s hustling to provide for your friends/family.
That opinion seems to make sense, given what we’re seeing here.
There has to be MASS denaturalization and deportation of these people starting VERY quickly.

Here’s the thing - the Somalis came here as refugees. Whether most of them have been engaged in fraud or not, things look OK in Somalia now. Mogadishu is supposed to be the fastest modernizing city in the African continent. When do we send these refugees home, whether they’ve taken part in the fraud or not? Being a refugee is supposed to be a temporary thing.
ALL government entitlement and welfare programs are subject to theft and malfeasance at some level.
