My YT feed has been flooded with them, and I will say the quality is very scary.
Humans might become ready for all this someday far in the future.
I don’t have a problem with this, anymore than I do with slop literature or slop television. I look for what I want and ignore what I don’t.
YouTube can be an incredible waste of time, or it can be a very useful tool. You just have to be discriminating.
Has AI started producing it’s own AI content yet? AI News.
There are a ton of them talking about Silver right now.
That Asian guy who talks about silver is AI but he does put out quality information unlike some of the ones in that genre.
As are the "you will not believe what happened next...." that might have a 5% start in reality but quickly go off into fiction.
The AI heartwarming “cute predator” stories worry me.
The mountain lion is not there to "play with your dog". It is there to eat it.
The Facebook Reels are polluted with AI video. And the quality is often excellent.
Sometimes I can tell it’s AI only because the poster made a small mistake. For example, a navy officer’s uniform might be off by just one detail.
This is dangerous stuff because its now very easy to spread false information.
But what I really hate right now are the AI images of various politicians, celebrities and 'social media influencers, who have their mouths wide open in rage, fear or excitement. Such things abound on the video sharing sites and some 'news' sites.
Considering that Hollywood has been producing huuuuge amounts of slop for quite some time, one could say that the so-called AI is just recreating the slop wheel.
We need laws that require anything produced with AI must be identified as such, especially representations of actual people. There are numerous videos on youtube of the British princes, adult and child, dancing wildly in all sorts of settings. Not the worst use that could be made of AI, but people shouldn’t be represented as doing things they didn’t do, or having abilities they do not have, unless such is disclosed.
Water marks should be mandatory on all of this fake garbage, with costly penalties for failure to mark your product.
AI drops acid.
Where does this end? Who do we trust? The wild Wild West is upon us again.
I used to watch those little quick vids but don’t bother now that so many are fake whether AI or not.
Clicks and views and comments are what make money on YouTube.
The videos really suck. But is it any surprise a “cheap and easy” AI formula is all over the place, if it makes money?
Two years ago, AI content was downright frightening in how creepy and cringey it was. It’s hardly perfect now but … “Space Beauties” on youtube is funny.
I used to watch YouTube a lot.
Month ago the vids went stupid crappy
Then after simple words like lives and lives
Record and record
had pronouncements swapped and I realized it was all ai moron crap
Click bait title
Adverbs and adjectives by the boat load
3 or 4 bullet points repeated 3 or 4 times in a row min vid.
Pure crap
After the 2nd adverb ar adjective and I quit watching.
Barely anything worth watching anymore.
AI told me it’s adding this post to the list of the six posts it HATES.
I am thinking folks are using the comments in the Facebook and Youtube posts to train/correct that AI slop. For example - “why did that truck have one two tires?” That way they can use the commenters to improve.
I am starting to think we should poison pill these comments. Say stuff like “I knew it was AI because all the people had five fingers on their hands.” Or “can you believe that car had four tires? Of course that was AI.”
Who’s with me on this project? Get them so messed up that they can’t trust the in
put.
