U.S. — CBS News has descended into turmoil after new Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss asked the journalists employed there to do journalism.
Internal memos show widespread outrage in response to Weiss's request, with many journalists threatening to resign rather than be forced to do journalism.
"I'd rather die than do journalism," said journalist Matthew Donalds. "If doing journalism is where this station is headed, count me out. I refuse to be a part of asking questions about current events and then reporting what happened. Weiss has crossed the line."
Weiss has reportedly made several harsh demands of CBS News employees, such as asking that they tell the truth. "It's true. I have asked all journalists to please report the news," said Weiss in a statement. "I understand this is a big change, and will take time to implement. There's a lot of resistance to reporting what did happen, instead of what didn't happen. We're going to get there, one step at a time."
At publishing time, Weiss had graciously offered to help any staff who wished to quit to get a new job at CNN.

I don’t disagree. But she somehow manages to believe in old school journalism and truth a lot more than the fake media hacks that inhabited CBS before her arrival. So that make her a right wing extremist to them.

CNN would joyfully accept 'journalists' who make up sources and use 'crystal balls' to trash republicans with 'future news' that never happens.
This isn’t really satire. Some 30 years ago, give or take, a RINO pundit in the Philadelphia area, Brian something or other, joined a group of people who bought the ‘Philadelphia Newspaper Group’ that owns the two dominant papers in Philly. The “reporters” cried that if this meant they would have to treat conservative fairly and without bias (they used different words but that was the gist of it) they would strike. In the end the buyers caved and pledged to give the reporters autonomy and no interference, so the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News continued their lying ways to this day.
