The police chief at Brown University has been placed on leave as the school examines its response to a mass shooting that left two students dead.
University officials announced Monday that Rodney Chatman, the head of public safety at the school, was placed on leave effective immediately, and his day-to-day responsibilities were given to former Providence Police Chief Hugh Clements.
The decision comes amid intense scrutiny over the school's security policies in the wake of the December 13 mass shooting, during which students Ella Cook and MukhammadAziz Umurzokov were tragically killed and nine others left with injuries.

Guess the dei hire didn't work out so well

“University officials” CYing their “A”
That whole town and school are DEI hellholes, and the people are circlefest clowns.
The article says this is routine during such an investigation.
I found this sentence interesting about his temporary replacement. Community-oriented policing?
“Clements, who is the former chief of police of the Providence Police Department, was appointed to temporarily replace Chatman as he is ‘nationally regarded for his expertise in community-oriented policing.’
This campus police chief is just a scapegoat for the leftists who run Brown University. If one looks at the big picture of this pathetic left of left school it goes right to the very top skank president who is Leftist in Charge.
Very glad that Bongino is leaving the FIB, no doubt he got frustrated with all the do-nothings there. Wonder what agreement was made to keep certain cases classified as we look forward to some truth.
Perfect example of your tax dollars at work.
I guess Brown is serving sacrificial lamb for Christmas dinner.
Or, Bongino realized to his dismay, that he was not capable of doing the job he had been given as a political sop
Community oriented policing is a term that has been used for the past ten years or so. It is a form of the policing system that the US Army used in Iraq. It’s focused on developing relationships with the local communities to assist them in maintaining law and order.
They use it in our local urban environments. The drug dealers still shoot each other. The terrorists still fired rockets in Sadr City. It sounds nice…but it doesn’t really work.
“community-oriented”....What does that mean?? All policing is community oriented.
To me, personally the story makes little to no sense and seems fishy as f***.
Once it came out that the custodian reported the killer casing the building to campus “security” not once but twice without anything being done, someone had to take the fall.
So they fired the black guy. Hmmm….
“Bongino is leaving the FIB, no doubt he got frustrated with all the do-nothings there.”
That’s exactly what I think.
Or maybe the police chief was incompetent and misrepresented his job credentials. He was fired from his previous job in Utah in less then a year.
Two Brown students and MIT physicist dead because this dude and his department ignored repeated warnings.
Convenient for the needed scapegoating.
Thanks.
Here is what the DoJ says about it. It seems rather innocuous. I read much of the document and almost fell asleep. :-)

“”””As part of sweeping security upgrades, the school will make it a priority to install additional cameras across campus, focusing on building entraces and common areas.””””
Still no comment from Brown regarding the allegation that the existing cameras were turned off to protect the illegals.
Ah, Brown U...demonstrating the motto of our ivy league: “Standards? We don’t have no stinkin’ standards.”
Is he going to learn English?
