I remember when we only had one billionaire in the world, J. Paul Getty.
From the net: “As of 2025, there are approximately 3,028 billionaires in the world, with a total net worth of $16.1 trillion. The term “trillionaire” refers to individuals with a net worth exceeding $1 trillion, but there is no specific count of trillionaires mentioned in the available data.
Forbes”
I want to live in the country with the most billionaires, so far so good:
United States - 813 billionaires
China - 473 billionaires
These two countries account for the majority of the world’s billionaires.

The thing about Elon Musk is he doesn’t seem to care about money. He doesn’t wear fancy clothes, collects luxury cars or even have a luxurious mansion. He just wants to build things and see what works and explore.
He could lose 99% of his current wealth and still be richer than the richest movie star out there.
His strategy is to eventually cash out. Although, that doesnt mean he wants to sit on a mountain of cash. His companies are tax selters, where he isn’t taxed as long as he keeps his assets in his business.
Consider.
1 Million Seconds: 11.57 days.
1 Billion Seconds: 31.7 years.
1 Trillion Seconds: 31,688 years.
Well, that’s a dumb article. There’s “no specific count of trillionaires” because there are no trillionaires!
Elon Musk is currently the richest person in the world, with a net worth of around three quarters of a trillion dollars.
Yup.
Sold all his houses apart from the one he handed over to his first wife. She demanded 5% of Tesla and SpaceX at one time.
He has put it all on the line a few times. So I am guessing it will be put into another few companies. Very different than Buffet who always bought someone elses. Buffet started companies in China. But not here.
Was that something Forbes said, or was that your observation from the Forbes data? The excerpt posted here seems to think there are none and Musk might become the first - "83% chance he’s the first trillionaire."
And Elon Musk is still the richest person in the world and is still an African-American.
He could pay off our national debt for us. If he unleashes AI on the world, I think the least he could do is pay off our national debt.
Let me amend that: Elon should pay off our national debt if and only if every Democrat congressman he dislikes resigns. I’d make a short list of all the really obnoxious ones, you know, AOC, Jasmine C, the usual suspects. If they resign, he pays it off. If they don’t, they make it very clear that they care more about personal power than this country.
Class, what percent is $749 billion of $38.4 trillion?
He has a rare IQ that covers logic full on.
Like his style more power to him.
Grok:
Rockefeller remained the world's sole billionaire for some time after 1916, as no other individual is recorded to have reached that threshold immediately afterward. Other industrialists like Henry Ford or Andrew Carnegie were extremely wealthy but did not cross the $1 billion mark in nominal dollars during that era.
Elon also saying that Space X, when it goes public, will probably get to 100 trillion dollars in value if the USA starts making moves to put colonies on the Moon.
Nope. And no else can. Elon Musk has paid more U.S. taxes than anyone else in U.S. history. He recently paid many billions in taxes, anywhere from 6 to 15 billion dollars. No one knows the exact amount, except for the IRS. With the national debt at 38 trillion dollars, Musk could pay many billions each year until he is old and it won't make a dent in the national debt.
I’ll bet he doesn’t have one hundred dollars in his wallet if he even carries one.
