Nick Reiner was diagnosed with schizophrenia, new meds made him ‘out of his head’ before parents’ murders: sources

Nick Reiner was schizophrenic, and his new medication was making him “out of his head” in the weeks before he allegedly killed his dad, Hollywood legend Rob Reiner, and his mom, Michele, according to a report.

The iconic director’s troubled middle child, 32, was being treated by a psychiatrist for his condition — but in the month before the murders, his behavior became “alarming” as doctors switched his medication, sources told TMZ.

About three to four weeks before Rob Reiner and his wife were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood mansion, his prescription was altered, making him “erratic and dangerous,” the sources said.

Doctors were trying to adjust his medication to balance him out — but the adjustment reportedly was not working and, combined with his substance abuse, actually made things worse.

Once his medication was changed, “Nick was out of his head,” a source told TMZ.

I would get everything your insurance will pay for but beware of this issue:

My official genetic testing only included more recognized variants for the ones they tested that they could do something about. It did not include the up and coming.

Here is how that plays out.

Chris Everett had a variant that wasnt recognized for her testing as related to ovarian cancer. They later reclassified that variant which is how she caught her cancer.

But I warn everyone that this is a long difficult process. I am still learning how my variants may effect me. Grok has been helpful in sorting it out and telling me what to look for.

You can upload your data to Genetic Genie that can pinpoint some of it.

When there is a problem with a Drug..especially a psych drug, it is the first thing a Doctor should check.

Yes, or any other drug. If you get a new medication and suddenly you have a new symptom, it's probably the medication causing it. Trouble is, doctors don't usually call you in a few days and ask how you're doing. (Nurses sometimes do it.)

A lot of schizophrenics start taking drugs as their illness starts to manifest itself often at the age of 15-25 for males.

It’s called self medication.

Back in the 80’s I was told that 1/3 of schizophrenics recover spontaneously, 1/3 shuffle through life on meds or drugs and 1/3 end up dead or incarcerated for life. Don’t know if that’s still true.

I’m not convinced yet that this killing was malicious. I think he was having a psychotic break and had no idea what he was doing or remembered it afterwards.
I read a news article about a twenty something who went over to his friends house for a BBQ and he took some kind of recreational drug. He woke up the next morning on the patio of his friend’s house covered in blood and found his friend dead. The one who took the drug, hallucinate, thought the friend was some kind of demon, cut his heart out while he was alive and BBQ’d it on the grill. He is in jail now but really had no idea what he was doing at the time of the ill-fated BBQ. Drugs and schizophrenia can do that.

In theory, if he's cured he'll thank his siblings.

Yes, I'm with you. I didn't care for Reiner, but that's not something I'd wish on him. The son should have been put away a long time ago.

I saw a video clip of Nick and sister Romy smoking dope together: "Drugs, a victimless crime …"

They don’t know but they insist that they do and that the answer is drugs and more drugs.

** medication to help make your condition worse. **

Amazon Prime flips out advertisements for meds with warnings that it might be no

good for the already mental people but you don’t know until somebody takes it.

And, of course, ask your doctor if Promenthy is right for you. (skateboarder on

commercial who does not speak clearly)

Nick Reiner’s drug addiction turned his mind to mush. Meathead’s son became meat rot and there is no prescription drugs that could help him.

Were recreational drugs available at Conan O’Brians party? If that is the case Conan would not want the police anywhere near his home,
It Seems to me Nick Reiner was asking some guests at the party if they were famous. Fame equals money. Was Nick trying to score some illicit drugs from the famous people at Conan’s home?

Two questions: (which will never be revealed)

1. What was he on before?
2. What was it switched to?
