MN lawmaker says ‘unbelievable’ assisted-living fraud scheme includes indicted figure still getting state pay
Fox News ^ | 12/17/25 | Andrew Mark Miller, Christian Mysliwiec

EXCLUSIVE: Fox News Digital spoke to Minnesota state Rep. Kristin Robbins shortly after she unveiled millions in alleged fraud in the state’s assisted living program and identified an individual already indicted for fraud who is still receiving payments from the state, adding to the already exploding fraud scandal in the state.

The Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Policy, chaired by Robbins, held a hearing that focused on a new sector of fraud, the state’s assisted living programs, that comes amid a massive unfolding fraud scandal in the state that has affected a variety of other sectors and resulted in calls for the state’s chief executive, Gov. Tim Walz, to resign.

The committee alleges that a number of individuals tied to other fraud schemes are receiving millions in taxpayer dollars for an assisted living program and that one of those individuals, referred to as "FOF Defendant," is already facing indictment charges as part of the Feeding the Future fraud scheme yet still receiving payments from Minnesota’s Department of Human Services.

In a presentation, Robbins outlined properties owned by FOF Defendant connected to the assistant living facility fraud and what she called an "unbelievable" network of fraud that slipped past any oversight procedures.

"I bring this to your attention because despite months of hearings, we continue to miss the most basic internal controls and the most basic checks and balances when we are enrolling providers," Robbins said during the hearing. "This is just one network. Our researchers has multiple networks that we could have discussed today."

Robbins, who is a Republican candidate for governor to replace Walz next year, says she will be turning her findings over to the U.S. Attorney today for further investigation.

“that slipped past any oversight procedures.”

It didn’t slip by. It was buried.

Trump’s USCIS Seeks to Strip Naturalized Citizenship from Immigration Fraudsters
Breitbart ^ | 18 Dec 2025 | John Binder
FR Posted on 12/18/2025, 10:35:39 AM by Olog-hai

President Donald Trump’s United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is reportedly setting out an ambitious plan to strip citizenship from naturalized Americans who are found to have fraudulently secured the legal status. The denaturalization plan, detailed in The New York Times, will be spearheaded by USCIS Director Joe Edlow and focus on referring 100 to 200 denaturalization cases every month to the agency’s Office of Immigration Litigation.

“If the cases are successful, it would represent a massive escalation of denaturalization in the modern era, experts said. By comparison, between 2017 and this year to date, there had been just over 120 cases filed, according to the Justice Department,” the Times reports. […]

In fewer than four years, the Biden administration awarded citizenship to almost 3.5 million foreign nationals, which the Migration Policy Institute notes is “by far the most [naturalizations] of any single presidential term.” … (Excerpt) Read more at breitbart.com ...

A widespread fraud scandal in Minnesota involves the theft of over $1 billion in federal
and state social service funds, including money for housing and healthcare assistance programs.

The majority of the 87 people charged in the various schemes are of Somali descent, leading
to the schemes often being publicly referred to as the “Somali assisted living fraud”.

The Somali fraud is not a single scheme but a network of Somali thievery that exploited Minnesota’s robust social safety net programs.

Key elements include Diverse Schemes:
<><>Somali frauds involved stealing from multiple programs,
<><>the largest one known as “Feeding Our Future” (a child meal program during the pandemic),
<><>as well as Somali thievery related to housing assistance, behavioral health, and autism services.
<><>thieving Somalis submitting fraudulent invoices and claims for services
<><>Somali thieves outright lied using “ghost billing” to steal
<><>and falsely certifying Somali individuals as eligible for care.

Federal prosecutors have charged 87 individuals in the past three years, with 61 already convicted. The total amount stolen is estimated to be over a billion dollars, much of which Somali thieves spent on luxury goods like cars and international travel, and real estate here and abroad.

Somali Terrorism Ties: Investigative reports suggest that some of the Somali thievery may have been funneled overseas through informal cash-transfer networks (hawalas) and potentially reached the terrorist group al-Shabaab......in Somalia.

Prosecutors have also stated the primary motive appeared to be Somalis personal enrichment.

The Somali thieving scandal has generated significant political controversy in Minnesota and nationally. Critics of the state government claim officials were slow to act on red flags for fear of being accused of “racism” which the thieves used as a calculated MO to mitigate the thievery.

The scandal has been a focus of the Trump administration, which has ramped up investigations targeting the community. The story continues to develop, with ongoing federal investigations and new charges expected.

A key question is how a bunch of uneducated Somali pirates from a hellhole country knew how to navigate the intricacies of US funding laws. The thieves apparently had expert help.....perhaps even Congressional help.
