The team said they are not asking for state taxpayer dollars, but are still seeking a commitment to local infrastructure and reasonable property tax certainty.

Mostly black.......A few brown.........Very few white............
Move back to Decatur, Illinois, where they started as the Decatur Staleys.
I’ve been to one game at Wrigley...when I was 12. It was the Giants on a dreary cold April day with only a few thousand in the stands. Leo Durocher was the manager and the Cubs pitcher was getting hammered. Leo came out of the dugout to pull the pitcher and I swear 4,000 beer bottles came from the stands aimed at the mound! I still remember..60 years later.
Gary is just another neighborhood in the City of Chicago.
Hegewisch, Back-of-Yards, Gary.
Same, same.
A move to Gary is being considered to help revitalise the former steel town. The team would move the entire offices lock, stock, and barrel to Indiana to avoid Cook County taxes and Illinois’ income tax. The players would take advantage of a far better economic policy in Indiana over that of a Chicago city-state.
I don’t see a downside here. Not the first team to move to a different state while claiming to be from the orginal state.
I suspect beside the tax savings, the land acquistion in Gary will be far cheaper and larger tracts would be available to control.
Also they would be nuts to let this be made public without getting control of the parcels they are looking at. Otherwise land prices in Gary just doubled.
would that then mean that Indiana had TWO NFL teams?
Decatur. Ha!
The way Chicongo is going, I don’t blame the bears one bit for wanting to move.
“Gary Indiana”, as sung by a very young Ron Howard in The Music Man.

1060 west Addison?
I would have loved to hear some of the stories he (and his lovely daughter) could tell!
You should read his autobiography. Halas was one of the greats, imo.
And the Dallas Cowboys have not played in Dallas for nearly 60 years.
No.
I would say that these United States of America are the greatest nation.
"The Music Man" with Robert Preston, a young - and very lovely - Shirley Jones, and an even younger Ronnie Howard.
Even if they have to pay to build a stadium in Indiana, they are better off doing that.
The Washington Commanderskins play in Maryland, not Washington D.C, while the New York Jets and the New York Giants play in New Jersey, not New York.
And maybe those reporters do think it’s about wildlife?
