Dan Bongino on Wednesday confirmed he is resigning from the FBI.
Bongino said he will be leaving the FBI in January.

I will be leaving my position with the FBI in January. I want to thank President Trump, AG Bondi, and Director Patel for the opportunity to serve with purpose. Most importantly, I want to thank you, my fellow Americans, for the privilege to serve you. God bless America, and all those who defend Her.
Shortly before Bongino made his official announcement, President Trump appeared to confirm Bongino’s departure from the FBI in remarks to reporters.
“Dan did a great job. I think he wants to go back to his show,” Trump said of Bongino.

Bongino announced his resignation just weeks after Brian Cole of Virginia was arrested for planting pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC on January 5, 2021.
FBI Director Kash Patel released a statement on Bongino’s resignation.
“Dan is the best partner I could’ve asked for in helping restore this FBI. He brought critical reforms to make the organization more efficient, led the successful Summer Heat op, served as the people’s voice for transparency, and delivered major breakthroughs in long unsolved cases like the pipe bomb investigation. And that’s only a small part of the work he went about every single day delivering for America,” Patel said.
“He not only completed his mission – he far exceeded it. We will miss him but I’m thankful he accepted the call to serve. Our country is better and safer for it,” Patel added.

How do you know, oh omniscient one? In his position, was he going to countermand AG Barbie? Most likely, he tried and was squelched.
In case you haven’t noticed, Bondi isn’t there to help Trump.

I’m sure he’s shattered to be off your magical list. As for me, I have missed him on air and hope he comes back stronger than ever. I actually preferred him to Rush in Rush’s later years. Early Rush is unbeatable!

Then you aren’t familiar with Bongino and never listened to him. He was the most vocal critic of the SS and deep state after Butler. In fact, AFAIK, he was the ONLY one trying to expose wrongdoing in Butler.

How do you know what chances he was, or wasn’t, given?
Dan was placed there to give (false) credibility to the organization, but with no authority or power. IMO.
He beat cancer a couple years ago. His wife continues to live in Florida. But everything else you said is true.
Besides having ineffective Patel as your boss, Patel’s boss is the feckless and ineffective Bondi. As you said, “His FBI job is thankless.”

I look forward to listening, too. But I’m not getting my hopes up re hearing any behind-the-scenes info. There’s no way the deep state will allow that to happen; they’ll kill him first. And he knows it.

Bongino is toast. He should have stayed put.

Dan Bongino does not have prosecutorial powers. He can only investigate crimes and hand off the evidence to his superiors. It’s up to the Attorney General at the Department of Justice to take up the cases. The main bottleneck is Pam Bondi. She is slow walking everything.

I agree. He should have stayed put — in media. I can’t believe he thought that going to the FBI was going to be a good thing for him. (He’d have been better at SS if he truly wanted to help MAGA. Instead, PDJT appointed the guy who was in charge at Butler. On what level does that make any sense at all?)
