Landman: Billy Bob Thornton Describes The View as a 'Bunch of Pissed Off Millionaires Bitching About' President Donald Trump

When T.L. (Sam Elliott) revealed he didn't know what the ABC talk show was, Tommy (Thornton) gave him a pointed description of it

Taylor Sheridan got meta in the latest episode of Landman.

During a phone call between estranged father and son, Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) and T.L. (Sam Elliott), the oil executive did not mince his words as he described The View to his father, who just moved into Tommy's home after years of them not speaking.

When T.L. called to tell Tommy he didn't "know what to do," Tommy said his dad should "do whatever you want to do."

"Read a book or watch TV — watch one of them daytime talk shows, you know, like The View or something," Tommy suggested, which prompted T.L. to ask, "What's The View?"

Tommy then described the ABC talk show, which is hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, in no uncertain terms.

The View is, he said, a "bunch of pissed off millionaires bitching about how much they hate millionaires — and [President Donald] Trump and men and you and me — and everybody else they got a bee up their ass about."

He could have also described The View as a bunch of women who are angry that they never looked like the hotties in Landman. LOL

That’s just his character, I don’t know Billy Bob Thornton’s real political views, I wouldn’t say he’s a conservative necessarily.

BRAVE AI:

Billy Bob Thornton has recently reiterated his call for a “common sense” political party in the United States, emphasizing the need for a centrist movement that transcends traditional partisan divides. Speaking on Joe Rogan’s podcast in November 2025, he described himself as a “radical moderate,” stating that his opinions are not tied to any political party but are instead based on what he believes makes practical sense.
He criticized celebrities for using their platforms to push political agendas, arguing that people should not be expected to follow the political views of actors or musicians unless they are experts on the subject.

Thornton identifies as a “radical moderate,” meaning he holds strong personal opinions but refuses to align them with any specific political party.
He has expressed skepticism toward both major political parties, believing they have abandoned the average American and contributed to national tribalism.
His views on government reflect a preference for limited intervention, individual liberty, and personal accountability, principles that align with conservative and libertarian ideals.
Despite his Southern roots and support for Second Amendment rights, he has also voiced concerns about environmental conservation and criticized military interventions abroad, indicating a complex and nuanced perspective.
Thornton has consistently avoided public political endorsements and has maintained a deliberate ambiguity about his affiliations, choosing instead to focus on authenticity and common sense in political discourse.

LOL! But he shouldn't recommend any loved one watch The View. It will seriously lower their intellect.

Seems cool to me. Better than 99.9% of Hollywood.

Plus he is a great actor.

I recently watched the movie “Parkland”, and the scene where he says, “In 30 years I never lost a man. Yesterday I lost my man!”

We need a list.

Thornton. Costner. Reeves. Berry. McCaughey, Downey, Jr, Gibson, etc....

Big fish swimming against a ferocious tide of Hollyweirdo. There may be moments of disagreement, but they are independent thinkers that need support.

If only Reaves could stop the Wick nonsense.....Regardless, he's a good man.

I’m all in on “Landman”. After he bitch slapped that cattle rancher over lunch, I was a devotee to that script.

I always thought I didn’t like Billy Bob...until I actually watched him. He was in another show in which he played a beaten down lawyer (Goliath) that I really liked but Landman....I don’t want it to ever end!!
