Do they really need a search warrant if you have a clearly identified active crime scene? That surprises me if true.
It’s funny that the media, the mayor and the governor have identified the victims, and that police department guy says he cannot identify who the victims are. It really was a strange press conference.

These people are not US citizens, nor are they within our borders in any legal way. I am fully supporting our Constitution. There is absolutely no way the US Constitution applies to Venezuela or its citizens.
We had no due process with citizens of Hiroshima, and many other occasions in our military history, either.
1. Where do you think they were going? Chile?
2. Pretty sure that our military knew what was on these boats.
3. Doubtful that these people were innocent, but they were running illegal drugs. Somehow they got involved with the wrong people.
4. As a taxpayer, I would be satisfied that they meet with quick justice instead of languishing in our legal system for years and years and years.

I assume that those ordering the bombing had images of drugs on the boats that were destroyed, some of which were released.

The government probably knows everything about those boats. They likely were watching them when they left port and probably even before loading.
By that logic the President of the United States may arbitrarily shoot down passenger jets providing they are not in American airspace.

Am I supposed to feel better because the motive for murder is not to prevent introduction of drugs into the country but a lie to justify a different political motive? We both know killing people on the high seas who could easily have been apprehended does not actually prevent drugs from getting into the United States-because most of these drugs come from Mexico.
We declared war on drugs generations ago and have lost it every year since. Part of the casualties of that war is the loss of our own liberties and now it is to make the United States an international criminal. United States does not have a special license immunizing it from committing international aggression. Our Constitution requires a declaration of war or at least some consultation with Congress. Even so, the president may not wantonly murder individuals such as these people at sea who could have been safely captured. Even at war, we may not murder prisoners or those otherwise defenseless as these men at sea were.
I do not feel better because we are being lied to about why we are murdering people on the high seas.
I hope his Hollywood memorial is short, the fakeness will be nauseating.

These Drug Boats all carry cocaine from Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama. In the United States, there were an estimated 22,174 overdose deaths from cocaine in 2024--down from 29,449 deaths in 2023. Fentanyl from Mexico is added to cocaine to increase its euphoria, and that increases the likelihood of the overdoses. Where cocaine rides the seas and some people die, fentanyl rides cocaine and thousands die. Those who underestimate the seriousness of these "Coke Boats" are either light in the thinking department or, heavy in the back pocket from the Drug Cartels.
