Click on the title for a link to the new Supergirl movie trailer.
Watching the first 20 seconds I thought it was a spoof.
Apparently not.
I dunno. It does have a half-second look at Jason Momoa as Lobo in it, so there’s that much anyway.
They should have cast Sydney Sweeney
The trailer has a strong “Guardians of the Galaxy” feel to it. Not surprising.
They took a classic rock song from Blondie, added vocal fry and terrible CGI. And copied the opening scene from Back to the Future, but made it suck more.
The only reason for a trailer is to get people interested in going to see the movie. I’ve seen good trailers for bad movies, but I’ve rarely seen bad trailers for good movies. This trailer is a mess and it doesn’t make the movie look attractive at all.
Yeah. Looks ok. It was referenced in the recent Superman movie as was Krypto the dog
Who watches movies anymore?
"Supergirl - More Superhero Slop"
Where he wasn't so harsh on the movie for it's own sake but for how James Gunn keeps making movies with the same outlook and style points without respect for the source material. And he's right.
I enjoyed the 2025 Superman movie but "Man of Steel", while simpler and less busy, was better by showing that Kal-El's journey and tribulations were ultimately more difficult because he had those powers.
His cousin Kara Zor-El's backstory is compelling on it's own with no need to portray her as some opposite version of the known character. It's like she's being disrespectfully sacrificed on an altar to Gunn's own ego.

The target audience now is Chinese
You mean Guardians of the Galaxy Part Four??
Did they even realize that Blondie’s “Call Me” is a song about prostitution? I am guessing they did and used it anyway ‘cause its an edgy girl thing.
AI generated, illogical, disjointed, disconnected from reality, woke, female centric.
Indeed. A movie that captures modern society and thinking.
And the unfortunately-named Milly Alcock is cute as a button.
“I am well-versed in Supergirl’s history...”
Then maybe you can help me. Everything we’ve seen in the movies displayed Kal-El’s departure from Krypton as it was exploding, just seconds ahead of destruction. To my knowledge, there were no other people on the planet that were working on sending a child out except his parents. And they equipped the vehicle with immense amounts of information to teach. And the child arrived as a child displaying strength and the wisdom of standing/walking. How did she get this information while arriving full grown or was that part overlooked in the script?
