A Christmas Carol starring Alistair Sim.
Anyone who states that Die Hard is not a Christmas movie is probably an atheist.
My wife wanted me to watch a Christmas movie tonight: “Tinsel Town”.
It is possibly the most woke, Leftist Christmas movie I have ever seen.
I will never get this 93 minutes of my life back.
But I absolutely will forgive her.
She usually picks out movies that are pretty good. She doesn’t care much for anything I watch, but she did watch the pilot episode of “Resident Alien” with me. Not her cup of tea.
This one, with Kiefer Sutherland, is not my cup of tea.
Christmas in Connecticut 1945
Ernest saves Christmas. I’m being earnest.
We also make a point of watching the the Three Godfathers every year.
Is Ben Hur on the list?
Thanks for posting this! Very entertaining reading.
Did love this bit: Time Out tip: That’s right, Die Hard 2 is also a Christmas movie. Cry about it.
LOL!
Quibbles:
They did not include the original TV version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” which is a shame because it is perfect.
And one I’d recommend is “Spririted” which was an Apple Original musical that came out in 2022 I think. Will Farrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer in a very inventive re-telling of A Christmas Carol. Some “mature themes”, and might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I do like it. Songs are good and the dancing is great. Plus, the good old message remains!
Merry Christmas and G-d bless us, everyone.
A Midnight Clear
The Chosen. 2 Christmas episodes.
I think Im going to try something new this year and watch Gremlins. Its set during Christmas. I remember it really funny as a kid at the theater.
My favorites though are,
Christmas Vacation
Charlie Browns Christmas
Its a Wonderful Life.
... Almost forgot The Nutcracker! And Sound of Music!
Something else I watch ever year, it not a movie though. And its on youtube.
Rick Stevens - A European Christmas.
Probably soon to be a Historical Documentary and Required watching in every college European History class.
If you want something truly special watch The 3 Godfathers starring John Wayne, Harry Carey Jr and Ward Bond.
Nomination for Honorable Mention:
Although The Wizard of Oz has no Christmas theme whatsoever the networks started playing the movie in the Christmas season over eighty years ago. I remember in the early 60’s it was a big deal, a family get together every year with the Christmas tree in the room. Besides, we all knew Santa Claus was a fake as we had no fireplace but always got presents. ;-)
Wizard of Oz, those of an age know why..
