" . . .The Oglethorpe Police Department has extensively circulated images of the pit bulls, but people who know whose they are appear to be intimidated about suggesting who they might belong to.

Neighbors wary “Neighbors who spoke with local media but declined to appear on camera said the dogs live along a nearby street and frequently chase people in the area,” Rix said.

“However, they said this was the most serious incident involving the animals,” no surprise, since the only way the attack on Woolfork could be more serious would be if the pit bulls were deliberately set upon him, or if there were multiple human victims instead of only one.

Woolfork was U.S. dog attack fatality #80 of 2025 and U.S. pit bull fatality #61. Both totals are U.S. records.

Owners that let these beasts out should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

I had one, after years of saying I never would. Two friends of my son split up soon after getting the pup. They had no place to take her so she was pound bound. I said We’ll raise her but if she hurts anyone or anyones animals, I will put a ball in her head. She was the funnest dog you ever saw. However, when it came to food, she was scary. Then she decided to start beating up my old dog. 3 times in less than 2 weeks.

She went to sleep soon after.

Pit bulls should be exterminated except for a few zoo examples.

Just follow along with British law and exterminate the breed. They are genetically diseased.

Some are. The couple that locked their small child in the bedroom with the pit bull dog that killed here are being held on 1st Degree Murder charges.

. . .” . .Less than a day earlier, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma County district attorney Vicki Behanna upgraded the second degree murder charges already pending against pit bull owners Darci Lambert, 24, and Jorden McGuire, 34, to first degree murder for the November 17, 2025 mauling death of their daughter, Locklynn McGuire, whose third birthday was to have been on December 12, 2025.

Behenna also added two counts each of cruelty to animals to the charges.

“Prosecutors upgraded charges to first-degree murder after reviewing the circumstances of the case. The crime carries a punishment of life in prison or life without parole,” reported Christian Hans for KWTV, News 9 in Oklahoma City.

Explained Behenna, “Lambert and McGuire’s complete disregard for the health, safety, and welfare of their child, and their failure to protect her despite knowing she was at risk, led to her death.”

Recounted Abigail Ogle, five p.m. television news anchor for KOCO in Oklahoma City, “Oklahoma City police were called to the [Lambert/McGuire] house for a welfare check,” at about 11:30 p.m., “where the girl’s mother reportedly told officers, ‘My daughter got ate by the pit.’

“Once inside, police found Locklynn’s body covered in bite marks and other gruesome injuries,” including the loss of both ears and most of her face.

“Officers said the little girl had been locked in a room with the dog,” one of four pit bulls in the home, who killed her.

“Oklahoma City Animal Welfare removed four dogs,” all pit bulls, “from the home and noted that three appeared to be malnourished,” Ogle added, struggling to speak. . .’

“Pit-Bull Type” dogs have been bred to be exactly the way they are for a very long time. Dogfighting is very lucrative, as it is both a blood-sport and gambling activity.

To these breeders, handlers, and owners, human destruction is acceptable collateral damage.

Maybe require a license for this breed, or any breed after injuries from such pass a certain % relative to numbers, and require shelters to require a proof of license and insurance in order to obtain this such breed. For I surmise that a main reason for so many pitbulls is because,
"Among shelter dogs, pit bulls and pit mixes are often at the bottom end of adoption pricing (and sometimes free) because they are so common, while from breeders they sit in the mid‑range of prices, far below the truly expensive breeds but not among the absolute cheapest."

Because shelters are overrun with bully breeds, some waive or sharply reduce fees for pit bulls and pit mixes; e.g., the Humane Society of Missouri lists “pit bull terriers and pit mixes five months and older” with adoption fees waived, while other dogs carry standard fees.

Reddit reports from multiple regions mention pits and pit mixes being cheaper than average dogs at municipal/high‑kill shelters and sometimes featured in special “no‑fee” promotions.

So in the shelter context, pit bulls tend to be among the least expensive dogs to adopt, relative to other sizes/breeds. Source" perplexity.ai, with sources
