You may want to consider which state you’re in when you put together your Christmas playlist this season.
A study by FinanceBuzz used Google Trends to figure out which Christmas song is the trendiest in each state, with a variety of familiar tracks making it on the list. You might be surprised by the results.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You”
“Jingle Bells”
“Santa Baby”
“Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!”
“Run Rudolph Run”
“Blue Christmas”
“Feliz Navidad”
“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”
“A Holly Jolly Christmas”
“Last Christmas”
“White Christmas”

Includes some hymns. :-)
No Hallmark soundtracks? Must have been a targeted research project.

My wife hates the John Lennon one, featuring Yoko Ono on backup vocals.
Any of those refer to the birth of Jesus?
Notice that NONE of these popular songs mention the reason why we celebrate Christmas. The celebrant has all but been forgotten!

I don’t know the song, but what you described sounds horrible.
Yeah. Not really a fan of either, but Floridians seem to love one of them.
I HATE “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
I don’t believe for a minute that Santa Baby is actually the most popular in any state.
Mine is “Do you hear what I hear?” I could listen to it all day.
There are songs so completely owned by one artist it should be criminal for anybody else to cover it; The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting) by Nat King Cole, Merry Christmas Darling by Karen Carpenter, Holly Jolly Christmas by Burl Ives, you get the drift.
There was an obvious bias towards “gimmick” jingles.
Bigger copyright payoff for being newer?
I could care less what stupid polls say, White Christmas is hands down the most popular Christmas song ever!

Funny how most of the popular “Christmas” songs have Jewish authors.
Hmmm I always thought it was “Fleas Navidad”.
