TRUMP JUST MADE CHEAP TRUCKS LEGAL AGAIN. Check out the “climate” regulations he rolled back!

For years now, manufacturers have been beholden to "CAFE" fuel standards that force them to increase the average fuel efficiency of their fleets. This has forced automakers to make engines needlessly complex (ie, expensive to fix). Ironically, to avoid regulations imposed on smaller vehicles, it has also led automakers to make their trucks larger and larger, and/or abandoning entire production lines, like Ford did with its sedans.

You have no idea. Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, Isuzu, all their industry would explode overnight. I really would love this too as most of those keitora are stick shift and very fun to drive. There’s no reason not to let them in, either. They’re very gas efficient and can barely make it down a highway.

To the liberal mind, which is usually simple and ignorant, there’s only benefits but no costs to a policy.

Reason Magazine in the early 90s published a study on the true cost of the CAFE standards. One of the first things that was done to meet the standards was to reduce the mass of the car.

From the reduced mass, injuries and deaths increased and it was found the costs from these were 5 times the cost of the fuel savings.

The CAFE standards should be abolished and let the owner of the vehicle decide what tradeoff they’d like to make between the safety and efficacy of the vehicle in meeting their needs and fuel efficiency.

So in other words, going too far with this resulted in the opposite occurring. Larger vehicles using more gas and fewer fuel efficient, smaller sedan cars.

Toyota's turbo diesel Helix Champ starts at $14,000, comes with air conditioning and airbags, and as a plus, got banned by un-American leftists. Toyota should consider selling it in kit form.

And you can mount a crew served machine gun on the back which is perfect to use to teach children how to work together as a team.

My Jeep has this idiotic Auto Start-Stop.
This needs to use a secondary battery, which they buried somewhere behind engine.
It cost me $400 to replace this battery.
Even if this feature saved me few $ on gas, it definitely not saved me $400 worth of gas!
And how much did this feature raised the price of the vehicle?
All to fulfill some guv idiot stupid regulation.
Anyway, people do not buy Jeeps for fuel savings!
