Every basic apartment comes with matte white walls, and the cheapest color in cars was always white, which was why nearly all rental cars were white. Now people pay more for white cars, which surprises that it somehow got flipped that way.

I'll say this: after the millennial grey period where people loved grey walls with grey furniture and grey accents - 50 shades of grey taken literally - I won't be surprised to see anything become the hot new thing, even basic white.

It makes sense for a new house or an aprtment to have white, but, usually the new resident wants to add color.

But people do get carried along on trends sometimes.
