Every new house I’ve been in since I moved to Texas has grey walls.

I definitely did not pick the CB400F because I was lusting after one on the Mecum Las Vegas motorcycle auction site.

Nope.

This CB400F is old-school, but sporty. And red, like 2026 is gonna be. Plus, the “waterfall” exhaust is classy, like Melania.

I left my job as a color name consultant and became a buffalo hunter. It’s been tough, I’m thinking about learning to code.

White is not a hard sell in the new houses around me.
Cloud Dancer is a neutral pale grey white. Years ago, I had a custom color made that was very like it. I used it on all my ceilings. It looked better than bright white. I also used it on trim in one room with pale blue walls. Very soothing but bright and light relefecting.

It makes sense for a new house or an aprtment to have white, but, usually the new resident wants to add color.

But people do get carried along on trends sometimes.

"My dream was to own an authentic saltbox, but that never happened."

House Lust, for sure!

The first home I ever bought was a cute little Cape Cod. 800 whopping square feet, but it was on a corner lot and had a fenced yard for the dog. Only a ONE car attached garage.

“Very soothing but bright and light relefecting.”

Lighting makes ALL the difference. Before I sold my last house, I gave ‘The Old Girl’ a total re-vamp.

I used a color in the Living Room and up the staircase to the bedrooms called ‘Lion’ from Behr paints.

At times is was green, at times it was gold!

Both my Realtor and my Feng Shui friend who stages homes for a living said it was a great color.

The house sold within days. :)

And on the flip side, using bad colors costs people big bucks! My son bought a house like that. We walked in and you were hit in the face by a big bright blue wall that backdropped the open floor plan. It was a hot market and lots of houses were going way above asking. I told him to offer their price but no more.
He got it. The first thing we did was paint the wall and room a pale sage green. It was a full spectrum paint that changed color as the day went on. It tied everything together.

I had recently done our farmhouse and sold it the day it went on the market. Color and light matters!

I recently painted an apartment a brighter white and it shows very well. I painted the cabinets a nice green and got comments even from People who were not looking.

Absolutely love them both!

The last house we had I hated so much I named it The Slough Of Despond. In the realtor’s office, Hubby yelled, “THIS IS THE HOUSE WERE GETTING!” So it’s the house we got.
