My brother and I were both adopted. I was born here, but he came here from Italy when he was 8 years old. He couldn’t speak a word of English. You couldn’t tell, now. He assimilated completely.

Earning your way is part of the process. I’m from the UK, came here at 16. My dad earned a 4-year degree to get a job here, he was denied prior - learned this would help. He did this while having a full-time job. He did it for the family. Upon arrival, only he had a work visa. The rest of us had to abide by the law and wait for a work permit, then permanent residency, then citizenship. My son became a U.S. Marine.
Just letting hoards of people in under the banner of “refugee” will NEVER bring in people who respect what this country provides, they will just take advantage of it - lie, cheat, steal.

since minneapolis has their own somali police force who’s stated purpose is to protect & defend fellow somalians, it will be interesting to watch this ICE enforcement action play out.
