A graduate assistant was removed from her position amid investigations into a contested discrimination report filed by a disgruntled student who repeatedly referenced the Bible in an essay response to an article about gender stereotypes — for a course taught by a transgender instructor.
In her essay, which was supposed to cover “how people are perceived based on societal expectations of gender,” University of Oklahoma student Samantha Fulnecky presented a Biblically-fueled tirade against the notion that there are multiple genders.
The psychology course’s professor, graduate student Mel Curth, who uses “she/they” pronouns, failed Fulnecky on the grounds that she neglected to address the prompt and relied more on “personal ideology” than “empirical evidence,” according to a bombshell thread shared by the university’s Turning Point USA chapter.
In the essay, Fulnecky repeats ad nauseam that she doesn’t take issue with gender stereotypes because “that is how God made us.” However, she neglected to cite the article she was responding to, save for a vague reference to “teasing as a way to enforce gender norms.”
She devoted the bulk of the around 650-word essay to discussing how children are detrimentally impacted by beliefs in multiple genders, but it’s unclear if that was a focus of the original article the class had to analyze.
“Society pushing the lie that there are multiple genders and everyone should be whatever they want to be is demonic and severely harms American youth,” Fulnecky wrote.
“I live my life based on this truth and firmly believe that there would be less gender issues and insecurities in children if they were raised knowing that they do not belong to themselves, but they belong to the Lord,” she added.
Curth doubled-down and noted that Fulnecky’s points were “at times offensive.”

Americans are rightly waking up — much of higher education is now a scam
These are the classes forced on students to keep mentally ill people with useless degrees employed.
650 word essay?
Is it just me or does that sound a little light?
Why should I be enforced to accept to who they say there are, when they could not accept who they are?
If I were this student I would have submitted two essays. The first essay would have been totally in line with the instructors thinking and the indoctrination the professor was giving her students. It would have been an A paper.
The second would have been two sentences as follows: “There are two genders period. Which essay are you going to grade?”
>650-word
are you kidding me
>650-word
Yeah, same here. That’s a two page double spaced essay = one page single spaced.
We always got 8 pages at LEAST in bachelors. 15-20 pages in masters.
If I were this student I would have submitted two essays. The first essay would have been totally in line with the instructors thinking and the indoctrination the professor was giving her students. It would have been an A paper.
The second would have been three sentences as follows: “There are two genders period. Does your avowed sexuality give prejudice in grading an essay? Which essay are you going to grade?”
Seems like only one side has the right to be/feel offended and their “discomfort” addressed.
A young girl in a girl’s dressing room has no right to feel offended and invaded by having to undress before a naked man, and her utter discomfort is of no concern.
The most-spineless and subjective characterization possible - tantamount to saying, "her points hurt my feelings!" As though that mattered!
Regards,
Circa 1966 in High School if such happened the boys would be in disbelief. If it happened again a severe ass beating would have occurred and I doubt the teachers would have noticed by choice. South Louisiana
I often averaged 10 pages for papers in my major.

Based on the following I fail to see where there is cause for a discrimination report being taken up by the University.
“...failed Fulnecky on the grounds that she neglected to address the prompt and relied more on “personal ideology” than “empirical evidence,”
If that is the reason Fulnecky was failed than the grad student was right in doing so. Fulnecky should be able to follow the instructions of the lesson which was on “how people are perceived based on societal expectations of gender,”. Now there was nothing wrong with her using Biblical references provided it was to show how belief influences perception. What would not meet the prompt would be to simply string together Bible passages to go beyond the original prompt to convey her personal beliefs.
Even if the prompt had called for debating whether there are more than two gender (sexes) exist, a college student should be able to argue against that notion by using sources other than Scripture. That there are only two genders is a matter of scientific fact and ideology one way or the other will not change that.
There was nothing offensive about what Fulnecky wrote it just lacked academic rigor.
