Sens. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.) issued a statement Saturday vowing to conduct “vigorous oversight” on Caribbean strikes after a report surfaced that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered the U.S. military to “kill everybody” aboard an alleged drug vessel.
“The Committee is aware of recent news reports — and the Department of Defense’s initial response — regarding alleged follow-on strikes on suspected narcotics vessels in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” the senators wrote in a joint statement.
“The Committee has directed inquires to the Department, and we will be conducting vigorous oversight to determine the facts related to the circumstances,” they added.
The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the order, reported Friday that Hegseth gave a spoken directive early in the operation to those overseeing the strikes: “Kill everybody.”
The first mission in September reportedly required two strikes after the first failed to kill all on board.

alleged drug vessel did not get its due process.
You are aware that the Coast Guard and others can only stop a few of the alleged drug vessels going 40knots? That often even with helicopter support some boats get away? You do know that there is only 24 km between the coast of Venezuela and the first island chain, once reached its easy to make it to refueling boats and hide in the mangroves, until they get to Puerto Rico, and the Florida coast?
So its better in your opinion to let most get through, so that the few who do get caught can have due process, while the majority get away, bringing their drugs to your kids, who may die from the poison. Better that kids die from drugs smuggled into the US, than a few drug runners die, correct?
Your drug vessel ROE is the equivalent of 0bama’s ROE in Iraq that forbid US troops from firing on the enemy, unless they were first fired on, took a casualty, and then called a military lawyer before being allowed to return fire. US troops died because of that bleeding heart stupidity.
The use is what constitutes fair use, not the statement.
If the image is not used in fair use then the statement changes nothing.
Youse guys should move to the Aleutians

On the inhabited islands the locals would kick them off, leaving the uninhabited ones where the mosquitoes, black flies, and no-seeums would suck their blood 24/7, assuming the ever-hungry black bears did not eat them first. Those that managed to survive would quickly discover that fresh water is very scarce and food even scarcer.
Oh well
One of the pictures was from a particularly Left wing source 😄😅😂🤣
The fair use clause was added in many web sites in the 1990s when companies did not understand copyright law as it pertained to the Internet. A number of cases, including those by FR itself, have established the fair use practice.
👍👍👍
And when they're done, they can go back to checking their stock portfolios.
The drug pirates are kamikazes, hell bent on delivering death to America.
Maybe they can dig up Colin Powell’s ROE that he used on the Iraqi army when it was retreating from Kuwait, kill the Iraqis while they’re running because a live army lives to fight another day
Aka “ the highway of death”
Personally, I’d rather die fast than drown after hours of exhausting swimming, or die of thirst, or be eaten by sharks.
And they are enemy combatants whose activities directly murder millions of our countrymen. We kill them. That’s what we do in war. It is right and just.
Quit posting libertarian garbage from your zero. rand paul
has completely flipped out after the lawnmower/neighbor
affair.
That no different that including the word "alleged" when referring to a criminal that has yet to be convicted in a court of law. These are magic words that serve to ward off evil spirits that occupy the bodies of lawyers and politicians.
It might seem stupid, but in the past, Free Republic has been sued over copyright violations.
“Since when does the Legislative Branch have oversight (i.e., control) of the Executive Branch?”
“The Congress shall have power...To make rules for the government...”
ARTICLE I, SECTION 8
Congress can tell Trump, Boasberg and Roberts et al. what they can and can’t do.
One branch of the federal government is “more equal” than the others.
Those of a libertarian bent need to get up from their fainting couches.
If it weren’t for the “rough men” who protect our freedom, we all would have a very different situation.
Thank you
It’s like the Do No Harm thing - I often use it on
controversial topics especially when there have been
incidents in the past
Agreed.

Amen. Let ‘er rip, I say. Kill them all. And execute drug dealers, too.
The boats carrying poison obviously can’t be allowed to pass.
They must be stopped. Blasting them and their crews to bits should be an allowable option if other options can’t be used or don’t work.
If circumstances and time permit, I would think a flare should be fired off. If the boat doesn’t stop, a burst of cannon or machine gun fire. If that doesn’t work, then the Hellfire method.
