Trump's not losing a wink of sleep over some pint-sized, big-word-spouting socialist toddler like Zohran Mamdani hurling "fascist" around like it's his security blanket. This guy's the freshly minted NYC Mayor-elect—a democratic socialist hack who's probably still got Che Guevara's poster on his dorm room wall—waltzing into the Oval Office and lobbing playground insults at the man who just steamrolled the establishment to Make America Great Again. And Trump? He just chuckles it off like swatting a gnat. "It's okay," he says, before tossing in praise for the kid while batting down the usual GOP pearl-clutchers. That's alpha energy: unflappable, unbothered, and turning the tables on the chaos merchants.

Mamdani will remain Islamist and will remain socialist. Not at all in doubt.
Co-opting Mamdani and driving a wedge between the progressive "leadership" of the democrat party.

A little while after the White House visit I remembered what it reminded me of.
During the early Franklin D. Roosevelt years he used to invite outspoken political enemies to the White House to spend some time with him.
One favorite ploy was to ask for help and knowledge about difficult matters involving his stamp collecting hobby. He had an enormous collection. He personally wrote letters and addressed envelopes to children and sent his duplicates to them as gifts.
He would ask a House or Senate foe to help him decide on the overstamped or temporary and unlisted issues such as during 1800s wartime and 1900s occupations from various bygone territorial changes. (Later examples in collections today are Nazi overstamps during takeovers in Europe and North Africa, with a former free country’s color under a black swastika).
It was said the foes would come out much more inclined to like FDR.
Note: FDR’s aides always packed boxes and files of stamps whenever FDR traveled. “Those stamps have saved my life many times over.” The stress relief helped him.
One day the aides forgot to pack the stamps.
That day FDR said “I have this terrific headache.”
Hours later he died of a stroke.
Ridicule seems to me to be akin to an ad homimen attack. Neither tactic wins and argument.
