What Makes Nashville...Nashville?

Local business owners say iconic Nashville spots, its restaurants, shops, and other small businesses, are struggling under record property valuations combined with tax hikes. Many fear they may not survive.

The Arnold family has been serving their signature “meat and threes” for more than 40 years. Owner Kahlil Arnold greets every customer personally, creating a restaurant that feels like family.

But the Arnolds are now facing a $138,000 property tax bill.

Didn’t look. Is the Mayor a sentient being who is honest or is he a DemocRAT?

Isn’t there a candidate running for Mayor of Nashville who says she hates everything about Nashville? Sounds like the whole City Council hates Nashville. She should be a shoo-in. Bless their hearts.

Gotta be more to that story. Back taxes maybe? If not, Nashville is screwed.

That’s Davidson County. They have had two large tax increases in the past 4 years.

Most of the rest of the state is sane. I’m paying less than $2000/yr for my new home in Warren County.

No, she, Aftyn Behn, is running against Matt Van Epps for the 7th Congressional district of Tennessee. She is wildly liberal and there isn’t a leftist cause that she thinks is too far left to support.

That’s utterly insane for a business! Glad your personal property taxes are so low. We are paying about $6,000 for 1/2 acre, 3,000 sq ft house, with a secondary lake view here in North Idaho. The people on the lake (”primary” lake view) pay a LOT more.

It’s the same story in every Democrat controlled city across the nation. Restaurants operate on very thin profit margins and even the most efficiently operated eating places do not make a profit in the first year of business. Add in uncontrolled crime and constantly increasing taxes it soon becomes too costly for even the best restaurants with well-liked dishes to handle.

Meanwhile, in red states with lower tax rates and fewer regulations, new restaurants are opening up every few weeks.

Someone has to pay for the government services provided to illegal immigrants.

Someone has to pay for the zero income tax. That leaves sales, property and sin taxes. Having the greedy hand of government grab a little less never seems to be an option.

I would be interest to see what additional local taxes this restraunt are forced to add to their customers tab.

Ocupations taxes, local sales taxes, etc.

Two Egg McMuffins where I live come with $1.20 in additional sales tax.

What kills me in our small town is that the city government keeps giving tax incentives for choke and puke national chains to move in. Meanwhile, we have a number of long-time single-proprietor establishments struggling to get by. Tax incentives for the national chains does nothing but increase the competitive disadvantage of the small restaurants.

Fyi Nashville was picked by all the San Fran faggies to be the new San Fran. They’ve been flooding into the area like mad. Sad but true Nashville has become a leftist pit dominated by the trannie queers. Have a few relatives that moved there. All queer as three dollar bills and very happy to pay higher and higher taxes.

It’s the Commie underhanded plan to destroy Capitalism through confiscatory taxation - destroy the ownership of private property and along with it free enterprise. You will own nothing and be happy.
