I’m stuck with Spectrum, and its price is atrocious.
I have cable 1g... they keep bumping the price :^/ Now it is right at $100/month. Stumbles all the time (internet lag, dropped connection).

I had fiber-optic in Japan for $40/month starting around 2004, that was much faster and smoother, no hiccups.

I have Starlink. There’s 10 devices on it. 6 phones, 2 computers, 2 gaming computers. I’ve never had a problem. Even when it’s snowing. We had the business plan with Consolidated Communications. $135. It was down more than it was up, especially when it came time for payroll. I always sweated payroll. Even told family members to get off so I could do payroll. with Starlink, it’s a breeze.
I’ll never go back to land based internet. I’ll starve first.

I have DISH for TV, Spectrum for internet. Both could stand improvement, a lots of it, including lower prices. Spectrum is now supporting Windows 11, which I do not have yet as it appears to be a complete disaster. Dish Network offers quite a bit, but the basic TV package with movies seems to be about all reruns & a very poor bargain for close to $100.

Currently have Ziply Fiber dsl over copper at 40/6 mbps. Works mostly all the time for $91/month. A local fiber company can deliver 500/500 mbps for $65. They’re waiting for permit from Avista Power.

We live in a congested area where Starlink is the only option. We require two dishes at $120/month each ($240/month total) since we have ten people using it (6 kids, my parents, me and the wife that both work from home).

Our area now has a congestion fee of $1,000 per account for anyone now wanting to get the service ($1400 all in). When we bought our two (Gen 2 and Gen 3 dishes) they were $750 out the door each and self-install when we purchased them a few years ago. That $1500 investment has been well worth it.

If I were new to the area, I’d pay the $1k congestion fee in a heartbeat since the only other options are fixed wireless with 25/3 max service. When LEO gets up and running, I’ll subscribe to that too and decide then which service becomes my failover. We are never getting fiber here. Heck, we can’t even get landline service here anymore, so fiber ain’t ever coming to my corner of rural North Idaho.

I looked at Starlink, even subscribed, I have the system leaning up on my sofa. Unfortunately, I discovered that it won’t work for me.

I you have more than 10% obstruction of the sky where you want to put the antenna, Starlink says that you will not have a reliable satelite connection for simple web surfing. You need no more than 5% obstruction for reliable on-line gaming.

I have 9.98% obstruction, at best. Two people in my household do on-line gaming, so it won’t work.

Starlink was great. i used it for few months. However they are not very tolerant of torrent downloads. My grandson came over and downloaded some movies via torrent and even though he used a vpn they still detected it. I was basically banned from using Starlink ever again. They won’t even allow the equipment I have to be resold to anyone else. I have no problem with all this but I think Starlink and Musk are in a hard spot. I’ll be they have Hollywood coming in hot and heavy against them when this happens and this is probably the safest way to avoid really expensive lawsuits and fines.
