I still have over 600 vinyls. Probably a couple hundred cds as well. Dumped the 8 tracks and cassettes and now I wish I had them back.

Good for you. I never played drums professionally, just jamming with friends mostly in garages and barns, and sometimes with them in a couple bars locally. I’m a Billy Cobham wannabe, but I’m really in it just for the fun.

That cowboy is good, but he can’t hold a candle to Yoko Ono.

“I’m really in it just for the fun.”

Me too these days, and it’s a lot of fun. I continue to chase better playing ability/interpretations and love playing at home and/or for listeners.

Even animals love music, it’s a winner everywhere it’s allowed.

It’s nice. You do have to install sheetrock with rockwool behind it or you get all sorts of modalities due to the concrete walls.

It still obviously functions as a bomb shelter. The previous owner had a bunch of kids and beds and whatever in there. Total space is 2500sf. We made a storage room, wine cellar (has a kitchen), small bedroom, and then the listening room.

Big generator (EMP resistant) that I refreshed and solar.

Food, but not enough. It’s a farm and ranch far from anything. Assuming we’re not covered in fallout, we could grow plenty.

Music is brain candy. Even for animals. I find it amazing that the human brain can accomplish the most incredible things with music. So much material and it is never ending, always new stuff everyday and probably forever. Who would have thought two cello players would make music with Steve Vai?

We had both of our collections, several hundred but we figured someone else would enjoy them. They were just collecting dust. I have a few and 2 Technics turntables They are not even hooked up to the stereo (Marantz NR1200, Vandersteen 1C’s using the TV for streaming).

Streamers do it better. I have a Christmas list that has 1,153 tunes on it. None of those store muzak songs that get played to death. Celtic, hammered dulcimer, St Martin In the Fields, Organ, Choir of Kings College
Classic Rock : 812
Jazz : 416 (I don’t know jazz well but Julie London to Brubek to Mahavishnu)
Christian : 200
Carolina Beach Music : 200

What instrument? They can all be complicated. I find piano just somewhere beyond my capability. Too damn many keys, and two sets of them to really confuse me. But I really like the sounds, I have an old antique upright that has a couple dead keys, but the rest sound nice. I want to have it reconditioned someday before I croak. Solid mahogany a beautiful piece even just for a decorative item.

I listen to, play, and sing music every day.

Mom was a piano teacher who died just three months before her 100th birthday. Her mind was as sharp as a tack until about two weeks before she died. She was slowly shutting down. She was church pianist and played for service a month before she died.

Music is the best medicine. Add laughter ... winning!

I have one cat who runs to the piano when I begin to play. She sits on the floor near my feet as long as I play, and then she goes back to sleep on the sofa. All of our cats have liked being sung to.
