SNL ridicules Megyn Kelly's controversial Epstein comments in Cold Open skit

Megyn Kelly faced backlash during the cold open of Saturday Night Live, as she appeared to defend late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's behavior by implying that he preferred the “barely legal type” and was not a pedophile.

After the Trump impersonator addressed another inquiry concerning his association with Epstein, he justified his stance and referenced Kelly's comments: “I thought Megyn Kelly made a terrific point this week, she said Epstein's not a pedophile.”

“Terrific thing to just say out of nowhere. Great Job Megyn, we love Megyn, they should put her back on TV. Legalize Megyn!”

The audience present in the studio burst into laughter at the sarcastic comments, which concluded shortly after a few additional jokes were delivered.

The reference to the conservative commentator follows her experiencing significant criticism for the statements made on the namesake podcast on November 12.

Kelly stated that she was uncertain regarding the veracity of the claims about the deceased sex offender, but remarked, “we have not yet witnessed anyone step forward and declare, 'I was under 10, I was under 14, when I first came within his preview'.”

Epstein's alleged victims were reportedly as young as 14 years old, based on the indictment that was presented when he faced charges for sex trafficking minors in July 2019.

I have to agree with Megyn Kelly. There is a difference between a 16-17 year old versus an 8 year old. My question is, were these girls threatened with harm to go to the island? Or, were they in agreement to go because they got money, clothes, purses etc. ? Why did Virginia Giuffre keep going back? Did they drug her to get on the plane? Force her screaming onto the plane? Teenage girls are quite different than when I was a teenager. We were much more naive back then. I just think if you keep coming back, then you are in agreement with participating. Not a popular opinion, but that is what I think.

There are a lot of stories out there. You can dispute them as gossip but what you shouldnt dispute is the hangup Elvis had with woman when he had problems having sex with Priscilla after she was a mother.

So yes, I get that men might look at 13 year olds in a way they wouldn’t two year olds. That doesnt mean screwing arounnd with a 13 year old is acceptable.

Megyn was making a practical distinction between pedophilia and ephebophilia.

It's impossible to make that distinction without coming across as a pedo.

Technically she is correct. A pedophile is someone attracted to prepubescent children. Pederast is the term for those attracted to pubescent teens. Still a disgusting creep, but the terminology is different.
