Congressional hemp restrictions threaten $28 billion industry

The congressional funding bill included a THC cap that effectively bans most hemp products, a move industry leaders say threatens the $28 billion market. More than 300,000 jobs are at risk, with economic impacts expected in states with large hemp sectors, including Kentucky, Texas and Utah, industry experts said. Executives warn the ban could fuel a surge in black-market sales if federal regulations aren’t adopted within a year, as demand for hemp-derived THC remains strong.

$28 billion industry with or without any restrictions being applied. When you are used to operating in the shadows, as the Mary Jane “retailers” have been for decades, it is easy to slip back into them, and the whole operation gets back underground.

Brick head jerks did not learn anything from prohibition.

Makes me think that “government” wants black markets so they can manufacture more “felons” and thereby gain more control over the general population and make more fines and penalty money for our benevolent overlords.

After all, why deal with Citizens when they can have a nation of serfs that fear the regime.

You know, lets just toss in alcohol as well. 0.2% would be considered “the good stuff.”

Yeah, try to take away THEIR little buzz buddy and wait for the screeching and moaning to be blasted out from all gov.media puppets.

-Executives warn the ban could fuel a surge in black-market sales -

There are over 150 weed stores in Albuquerque. There is no way that this many stores can stay in business legally.

I think a lot of the store fronts are there to cover for black-market sales. The market is swamped here so there is no room for a surge in black-market sales.

The ban would not affect us.

Trump’s sinking of drug filled boats threatens a $100 billion industry. So what? Does anyone really care about whether stoners get their dope legitimately? I know I don’t. I think making it easier for the weak minded to get high with a gateway drug is poor policy. Listen to Afroman’s “because I got high” sometime.

It was supposed to be for the fiber.
If you want to get high it is legal in half the US.
No wonder Paul and Massive were mad.
Here I thought they were being pricks because of the bourbon lobby.
Wonder how much money is made on the actual fiber?
