Yes, we've been told she was born in Melbourne. Yes, we now know that she sewed her own stage clothes. And of course we we've been told time and time again about the purity of her bell-like voice.

Yep. Judith and the Seekers were tremendous. They were totally crossover and appealed to almost everyone. They didn't have that ugly mean angry streak which poisoned Rock and Roll.

The Seekers - I'll Never Find Another You - 1964

I was 13 at the time and loved the song even then. It still puts tears in my eyes listening right now. It's one of the best pop love songs ever written, the musical accompaniment is top-notch, and Judith Durham's crystalline pure voice is amazing. Very emotional song.

Big fan here. No doubt about her talent. I do believe the writer is missing just one thing. It’s the image she presents as the little sister to 3 brothers that are very protective of her. Protective in a way that would let her thrive. Look at the bass player-Athol Guy. He had the look of a big crazy that wouldn’t let any harm come to his siblings. That was the warmth I saw in the group.

Judith was living proof that there is a God.

I loved The Seekers. ‘World of our Own’ was my favorite.

Yes, that's a wonderful song. I can't think of anything they did which I don't like.

McCartney? Did Jagger need the Stones? Kieth Richards helped him just like Lennon helped Paul. Simon did his best work with Garfunkel enough to say he WAS S&G. Good solo but we all remember the twosome.

Iconic in Australia. National heroes.

Judith loved gospel songs.

Seekers’ Bruce Woodley song ‘I Am Australian’ is like a second national anthem.

Some very entertaining videos of them out there, including from the very early coffeehouse days.

All the guys were like that.

No egos. No publicity stunts. No vulgarity.

Just good people making wonderful music.

Loved this song; what I also note is that she had one husband and her husband had one wife; exceptional for that career but then again she was a Christian.

I love Judith and the Seekers. Mark Steyn wrote a great piece about Georgy Girl wherein he describes how they performed for free in exchange for passage on the ship which took them to England to procure their 1st break.
What an exciting time when you could hear their songs for free on the radio. Today’s muzak...not so much.

I liked them back then when the songs were new.

I’ve linked to a song or two by them 2 or 3 times here.
